Yesterday saw the continuation of Kyle Rittenhouse’s contentious trial. RedState was closely following the case from the time that Rittenhouse, a teenager, was charged with murder for allegedly acting in self defense (see here, HERE, and HERE for further details). This occurred at the time of the Black Lives Matter-fueled violence that took place in Kenosha (Wisconsin) last year.
Since the trial began, the opinions have been flying on cable news among the “smart set.” You know, those legal analysts that are so brilliant that they comment on the law for leftwing hosts on CNN instead of…actually practicing it. For example, one instance that set off the talking heads involved a ruling in which the judge told the prosecution that they could not refer to those who Rittenhouse shot as “victims.” To normal people that makes total sense. Rittenhouse is guilty of calling them victims.
That didn’t stop CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin from calling the judge’s rulings “incomprehensible,” among other things, on air. Here’s a sampling of some of Toobin’s commentary per the Washington Examiner.
“It is a very weird … ruling,” he said. “What’s very weird is allowing this extremely pejorative, assuming the conclusion, words of ‘rioters’ and ‘looters,’ which all in all should help Rittenhouse’s defense a great deal.”
He added, “[It’s]It is because of the repeated use [those words]Rittenhouse’s actions are justified, as these are bad people he shot. They were looting and arsonists. This is not in dispute at the trial. … what these people were doing.”
Toobin noted for good measure that it’s not “the victims who are on trial here” but rather Rittenhouse.
Evidently, the judge was concerned that the comments might have an adverse effect on the fairness and integrity of his trial. This was his amazing reply.
It’s not important to forget that Ron Filipkowski (who sourced this video) is a hacker. There’s nothing “bizarre” about the judge’s move to correct the media’s disinformation.
Another bizarre act was that the Rittenhouse Judge took a short break to protest the media’s coverage of the case. pic.twitter.com/oLmUV11xeX

You don’t often see judges in a high-profile case like this respond directly to criticism by calling out media members by name. Toobin, on the other hand, is mocked by Toobin for not being familiar with the law or precedents that supported his rulings. You can’t judge these TV lawyers enough: They don’t know what they are talking.
This was, at the end of it all, a needed rebuke. Rittenhouse isn’t being tried for yawning. Yes, an outlet did report Rittenhouse yawning at the trial. His fate won’t be determined by poor cable news analysts. As required by law, Rittenhouse will be judged by his peers. It is a serious matter that his life could be at stake.
Toobin is a terrible person who got a coworker’s daughter pregnant, tried to make her have an abortion, and then tried to refuse child support. He also was caught on a CNN Zoom call doing things to himself I won’t describe here. He’s one of the many people that should keep their mouths shut and not speak in public again. But he continues to make himself look bad, and can even feel embarrassed. It’s a good thing that he was called out by the judge and tried to put an end to all of his circus barking.
