“Did a presidency destroying investigation just end in a whimper?”
Jordan Peterson offered weighed in Saturday on news that Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and President Donald Trump’s campaign was ending without any additional indictments.
In a tweet shared Saturday evening, Peterson asked whether Mueller’s probe ended in a “whimper.”

Comments? Thoughts? Did a presidency destroying investigation just end with a whimper? Am I missing something? https://t.co/7ix1RRte4G

The remarks were made in response to GOP strategist Andrew Surabian, who linked to a report from former Rolling Stone journalist Matt Taibi arguing that the result of the investigation was a “death-blow” for the credibility of the American news media.
Conservatives have been critical of major media outlets’ Mueller investigation coverage. For two years the press reported on the probe exhaustively, with many liberal and anti-Trump pundits speculating it could result in the impeachment or even jailing of Trump. Instead, Attorney General William Barr said Sunday in a summary of the special counsel’s findings that the evidence did not support the charge that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia to rig the 2016 election.

Peterson appeared to echo Surabian’s condemnation of the media, suggesting that the investigation was supposed to be “presidency destroying.”
Not satisfied with Barr’s explanation, many Democrats are calling for the full report to be released to the public. Others have vowed to continue investigating the president on their own, regardless of the probe’s findings.
Conservatives, Trump’s supporters, and Republicans, meanwhile, have celebrated the findings as a vindication of the president and a damning indictment of a purportedly politically motivated campaign by liberals and Democrats.
