Joe Biden continues to amaze us with yet another moment of head-scratching.
He toured Friday’s destruction by Colorado wildfires and made remarks afterwards. Yet, when presented with the reality of more than 1,000 homes being destroyed, leaving thousands of people homeless, Biden decided to…rant about windmills?
Is this the “empathizer-in-chief” we were promised?
Biden after touring wildfire damage in Colorado that destroyed more than 1,000 homes: “We’re gonna have windmills, you’re gonna see that have 100-yard wingspans, each, each propeller on that on that windmill, 100 yards long. So there’s so much that’s going to be able to be done.” pic.twitter.com/NmtNkoSIti

I’ll be honest. I’m mainly writing this article because I wanted an excuse to talk about how garbage windmills are, but before we get there, we should probably ask what exactly Biden is talking about here. Is there a connection between windmills and wildfires? Does he want to create a ridiculous connection between climate change and windmills? Or is this like when Democrats tell out-of-work coal miners that they’ll get fancy new jobs building solar panels?
People who have lost their homes are not interested in hearing about presidents bragging about windmill construction.

As I said, windmills can also be considered garbage.
Anyone that’s driven from Dallas to Amarillo has seen those ugly pieces of metal scattered over hundreds of miles of otherwise beautiful plains. I am not concerned that they are killing a lot more birds than is the case. Rather, I find it incredibly stupid that we are destroying the environment in order to “save” it. Windmills can’t be recycled after their useful life is up. They are also inefficient and limited in how they work. Additionally, windmills require 360 times more land than single-nuclear power plants to create the same amount energy.
America’s current energy policy is asinine, and while I realize some Texas Republicans feel bound to support wind energy because it’s a big industry there, the rest of us do not want our landscapes covered by those giant, expensive eyesores. This is also true of solar panels. These take up huge amounts of land, and are dependent on material that comes from China. And when it’s cloudy as it so often is, good luck making use of them.
Returning to Biden, why in the world would he think “yeah, you lost your homes, but I’m about to ruin your amazing scenic views and wilderness with giant windmills” is an appropriate response to people whose houses just burned down? Democrats have a real problem with energy policy and see Americans as pawns in a game of chess.
But the bottom line is that windmills make no sense. Enjoy a pleasant Sunday.
