Jeanie Buss Appears to Throw Shade at LeBron James and Magic Johnson – Opinion

LeBron Jam has said that Kyrie Irving should be in Los Angeles as the NBA trade negotiations heat up. There were many factors that led to a disappointing Lakers season. The biggest factors were injuries and coaching. In fact, the Lakers’ big three, Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis played just 21 of the 82 games.

James and Irving were the 2016 champions of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The bottom line is that LeBron has started acting as the team’s general manager, and he is making it known that the Lakers must trade for Kyrie, no matter the cost. Jeanie Buss could have tweeted this message:

Jeanie Buss didn’t single out LeBron. This tweet could also have been directed to Magic Johnson for his departure from the franchise following a disturbance with Rob Pelinka (Vice President Basketball Operations at the Lakers) and before Johnson left.

Buss seems to be saying that LeBron should not focus on winning another championship, but on the possibility of his team winning one. The tweet did mention Kobe Bean Bryant, who is the most famous Laker. The tweet also said “team over self,” referring to LeBron wanting to make the moves he thinks will work and not the moves Pelinka and Buss wish to make. Buss and LeBron share the same goal. However, Kobe won the fans every game when he was on the team for twenty years. You don’t get that same feel with LeBron on some nights. He also didn’t force trades to happen. Between 2000 and 2010, he worked with the things he had, winning five championships. However, in 2013, when Kobe injured his Achilles, his basketball career was forever changed.

The point is, when times get tough for LeBron, he immediately wants to trade for a player instead of seeing how he could help improve the current team and work with what he’s got. That’s in comparison to Kobe, who worked out at four o’clock in the morning, every day. His team won championships and games because he did all he could to help them. Buss may have meant that.

Some young Lakers players were acquired by the Lakers in the offseason. Although it is not clear what trades will be made by the Lakers, LeBron could end up with the Brooklyn Nets as Kevin Durant. LeBron can get the trade he desires and Kyrie joins him. Durant moves out of Brooklyn to play with Russell Westbrook who is undoubtedly the best power forward in his position. LeBron will have two Hall of Fame potential teammates to this team, so it should more than suffice.

If this tension between Buss and LeBron continues, they may have no choice but to trade LeBron, but that’s far-fetched at the moment.
