Who’da thunk? By now the story is famous – actually, make that infamous.
As the Trump-Biden Presidential Race comes to a roaring halt in the final weeks of October 2020 The New York PostComes out with breaking news. This headline is all caps.
BIDEN SECRET EMAILS
Revealed: Ukrainian exec thanked Hunter for “opportunity to meet” veep dad
The inside story by Ace PostThis was the way Emma Jo Morris, Gabrielle Fonrouge and Gabrielle Fonrouge reported:
This smoking-gun email shows how Hunter Biden brought a Ukrainian businessman to his role as Vice President.
Hunter Biden presented his father Joe Biden to Joe Biden as Vice President. This was less than one year after Joe Biden had pressured officials in Ukraine to fire a prosecutor investigating the firm. Emails obtained by The Post.
…The blockbuster correspondence — which flies in the face of Joe Biden’s claim that he’s “never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings” — is contained in a massive trove of data recovered from a laptop computer.
…The computer was dropped off at a repair shop in Biden’s home state of Delaware in April 2019, according to the store’s owner.
What happened next? Here’s a sample headline, this one from The Washington Examiner:
Twitter blocks New York Post Hunter Biden story, citing it as ‘potentially harmful’
There was also this The Western Journal:
Twitter bans users from posting NY Post Stories about Hunter Biden
Now? This is just a small sample of the most recent round of Twitter news.
Elon Musk offers to buy Twitter for $43 billion, so it can be ‘transformed as private company’
And just why does the world’s richest man want to buy Twitter — and how would he “transform” it? In a letter addressed to Bret Taylor (Twitter Chairman), he stated this:
Twitter is the best platform to allow free speech worldwide. This was why I decided to invest in it. It’s a social imperative that a democracy function properly.
This means that it is reasonable to assume that Elon Musk would not have stopped the transmission of data if he was running Twitter October 2020. New York Post story on Hunter’s laptop because — drumroll — Musk believes that “free speech is a societal imperative for a functioning democracy.”
Twitter workers quickly responded. “I may have to rethink my employment if that actually happens” tweeted one, tellingly revealing exactly the mindset that resulted in shutting down the PostThe Twitter account PostLaptop scoop.
That attitude was further emphasized on Friday as the following news came through: The Washington Examiner:
Twitter considers a ‘poison Pill’ to Kill Elon Musk Twitter Bid:
According to the story:
Twitter is said to be considering using “poison pills” to stop Elon Musk from trying to take control of the social media site.
That’s it? The Twitter board would use a “poison pill” defense to kill the Musk bid to take the company. What is the reason? An anonymous Twitter employee stated that Musk would make him want to quit his job. This is because Musk would not be able to stop the censorship of conservative speech. And if there’s anything Twitter executives, board members and employees value more than earning money for employees and shareholders it would be silencing conservative speech.
Now that the Twitter board has revealed its “poison pill” strategy, one can see vividly that this effort to shut down conservative speech starts at the very top of Twitter – which is exactly why the site reflexively silenced the New York Post Hunter Biden laptop story.
Of course, there is the PostThis isn’t the only conservative site experiencing censorship. Currently The Babylon Bee – a satirical site, no less – plus Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk and Fox’s Tucker Carlson have been shut down on Twitter because they all referred to Biden HHS official Rachel Levine, born as Richard, as a male. They were all shut down instead of allowing debate or free expression.
The irony here is that the major story that has propelled the seriously damaging image of Twitter as anti-free speech censors – the tale of Hunter Biden and his “laptop from hell” – may end up with Twitter being bought out by the pro-free speech Elon Musk – or, with a self-induced “poison pill” eventually bringing about the the destruction of the iron-fisted anti-conservative mindset that has become symbolic of Twitter’s far left arrogance of power.
That leads to an obvious question. Is Hunter Biden’s laptop the reason Twitter is dead? Keep checking back.
Ya can’t make it up. Grab the popcorn.
