Ingrid Centurion is running for the South Carolina District 1 House seat. This was my last interview in this CPAC 2022 Girl Power series. Centurion answered my question bluntly when I asked her why she was challenging another conservative.
“She’s not a conservative. She’s a Republican.”
In her brief time in Congress, Mace did not strike the right chords with conservatives. Despite going toe-to-toe with AOC, Mace condemned former President Donald J. Trump, but still voted, “No” on impeachment. Mace did vote in favor of Transgender Rights and against the destruction of Confederate statues. Centurion, a combat veteran and business leader, is Mace’s strong candidate. Centurion seems poised to succeed Mace with her clear presentation, background, platform and support.
