In Honor of Valentine’s Day—Some Conservative Powerhouse Couples – Opinion

I hope everyone had a Happy Valentine’s Day! I could not care less if it’s a commercialized, Hallmark and candy company hijacked holiday, anything that reminds us to love, and embrace the people that we love (or should be loving) is good with me!

These are some examples of conservative, powerhouse couples that I admire. These couples love each other so much that it is hard to believe they don’t love the country or conservative values as well. This couple uses their partnership to protect and preserve our nation and these values.

Some of the couples in this photo are elected officials while some are media stars and entertainers. Each of these couples have played a pivotal role in conservatism’s cause and I thank them for their support.

The great State of Florida is first.

Ron and Casey DeSantis

Casey DeSantis used to be a PGA Tour host before she married Ron DeSantis. She is now the first lady of Florida alongside her husband, Governor.

Casey met Ron DeSantis on a University of North Florida drive range while she was on the PGA Tour. Casey stated that she was just looking for some golf balls, but Ron DeSantis happened to be right behind her. Ron assumed Casey was checking out him. The signals were clear and the couple began a conversation that led to a long-lasting relationship. After Ron left the military in 2010, they were married and have three children, Madison, Mason and Mamie.

The DeSantis’ recently faced a health hurdle with Casey’s breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.

“I am saddened to report that Florida’s esteemed First Lady and my beloved wife has been diagnosed with breast cancer,” he said.

“As the mother of three young children, Casey is the centerpiece of our family and has made an impact on the lives of countless Floridians through her initiatives as First Lady.

“As she faces the most difficult test of her life, she will have not only have my unwavering support but the support of our entire family, as well as the prayers and well wishes from Floridians across our state. Casey is a true fighter, and she will never, never, never give up,” said DeSantis.

But the DeSantis’ are both fighters. Casey completed her chemotherapy at the end of January, and Governor DeSantis, motivated by this personal experience, wants to boost Florida’s funding for cancer research by 60 percent. These two are exemplifying leadership by not only speaking but also taking action.

Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears & Terence Sears

Although not much information is available about Terence Sears and Winsome Sears’ relationship, they met as young adults and married in their 20s. Both the couple are Marines and share a strong Christian faith. Terence and Winsome started Shenandoah Appliance Plumbing & Electric, which Terence still heads. Winsome Sears has been in politics since 2002, and Terence seems happy to be a supportive partner behind the life force that is Virginia’s first Black, female Lieutenant Governor.

Their three children were Katia E and Janel C. DeJon was one of them. Wikibious states that DeJon was the youngest daughter and died in an automobile accident.

You gain weight and gravitas when you go through many years of relationships, politics, tragedy and marriage. My hope is that this couple will continue to be a weighty influence in our nation’s life and politics.

Tom and Deneen Borelli

Deneen and Dr. Tom Borelli were conservative commentators, writers, contributors, and policymakers for many decades. As contributors to Newsmax TV, they often co-host the Sirius Patriot Radio show.

They were married in 2006. In December, they will be celebrating 16 years of marriage. Tom and Deneen discuss being together and their political allies at the beginning of the Newsmax TV interview.

Sam Sorbo and Kevin

Kevin Sorbo studied business and Sam Sorbo biomechanical engineering. Each of them had the desire to perform and both left school to go to Los Angeles to follow their dreams. In 1997, Sam had a guest-starring role in Kevin’s series Hercules. They fell in love instantly. Their love is still strong. They were married in 1998. Sam is an advocate for their children’s education and homeschools them.

Sam Sorbo is a pioneer in education with all the developments.

CBN interviewed her about:

Sam was shocked to discover that Sam’s oldest son had not been taught the same values in public school as his parents.  “Your kids are a gift from God,” says Sam. “Why are you putting him or her in an institution for eight hours?”  Sam has become a huge proponent for homeschooling.  “We do not ask schools to teach anything related to God,” says Sam.  “So how will godly values enter the classroom?”  Sam believes all education starts at home.

They promote films that are based on faith and value. They are a living example of what they believe and inspire others to follow their lead. Kevin and Sam remain strong after 24 years of marriage.
