Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar on Monday promoted a suggestion that Republican Sen. Rand Paul deserved to be assaulted by his next door neighbor.
Omar, a freshman congresswoman from Minnesota, retweeted the assertion by Tom Arnold, Roseanne Barr’s ex-husband. Arnold was responding to a video of Paul saying that Omar would be more grateful to live in America if she visited her home country more often.
“After she’s visited Somalia she might come back and appreciate America more,” the Kentucky senator told Breitbart News on Saturday.
Arnold, an actor turned anti-Trump conspiracy theorist, replied: “Imagine being Rand Paul’s next door neighbor and having to deal with @RandPaul lying cowardly circular whiney bullcrap about lawn clippings. No wonder he ripped his toupee off.”

The neighbor, Rene Boucher, 59, pleaded guilty to a felony assault charge and was sentenced to 30 days in prison. Paul won $580,000 in damages.
Omar ― who was not the first left-wing commentator to mock the attack ― in April complained that President Donald Trump and Rep. Dan Crenshaw, a Texas Republican, were encouraging threats and violence against her by criticizing her comments about the United States.

Omar’s office did not immediately respond to a request for a comment about her retweet of Arnold.
Paul’s communication director, Sergio Gor, called it “shameful behavior.
“We should never tolerate violence or promote it!” he said.
Shameful behavior from one of the LEADING voices & faces of the dem party. Why is @IlhanMN retweeting this abhorrent tweet? We should never tolerate violence or promote it! @IlhanMN @TomArnold pic.twitter.com/mDh3Lb9LsL
