This is where you will find one of comedy’s most distinctive voices.
The family of famed comedian Gilbert Gottfried announced on Tuesday that he passed away after battling a “long illness.”
“We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Gilbert Gottfried after a long illness. Gilbert, in addition to being an iconic comedian, was also a great husband, father, brother, friend and father to his children. Although today is a sad day for all of us, please keep laughing as loud as possible in Gilbert’s honor.”
Gottfried was 67.

Gottfried’s voice always preceded him, but his talent was even louder. He is well known for his voiceover work as the parrot in the Disney animated film Aladdin and his stand-up work has made him a “comedian’s comedian” throughout his career. Gottfried was an inspiration for many comedians.
Today’s world is quieter, and more sad. You are a funny friend. Rest easy.
