‘I Am Back!’ Whoopi Returns to ‘The View’ After Holocaust Comments

Whoopi Goldberg (stagename) is back. The ViewsMonday was her return day, which is one day sooner than the 2-week suspension. She was suspended after making anti-Semitic comments claiming the “Holocaust isn’t about race” but rather just “white people doing it to white people” (which NewsBusters was the firstReport. But according to her boastful returning message to viewers, they were going to continue to have the “tough conversations.”

“Well, hello, hello, hello, and welcome to The View. Yes, I am back,” she boasted at the top of the show. After being suspended on Tuesday, she returned on Monday.

Seemingly trying to squash rumors that she was angry after the original offending incident and thought Whoopi wouldn’t be able to recover, co-host Joy Behar immediately jumped in to announce that they all “missed” her.

Whoopi returned the sentiment, Whoopi praised the show and suggested that sometimes what they say isn’t said as “elegantly” as it could be:

GOLDBERG The ViewWe do this because it is our mission. Sometimes, we fail to do things as well as we can. and sometimes –

BEHAR: Do you think so?

GOLDBERG – You’re right. It takes five minutes for important topics to be covered.

SUNNY HOSTIN : Yes, yes.

GOLDBERG

We’ll continue to have difficult conversations, so I hope that it continues the vital conversations.,” she declared. “And in part, because this is what we’ve been hired to do.”

This is how the idea works. The ViewIt’s laughable to engage in difficult conversations. They all occupy the same liberal bubble and are openly hostile to anyone who doesn’t share it. That truth is evident by the fact that the show is struggling to find a real conservative woman to replace former co-host Meghan McCain.

And while Whoopi did make an apology before her suspension (with help from the left-wing Anti-Defamation League), she didn’t address what she said upon her return. Although she made a strange comment about the way they talk on the show, isn’t “always pretty” and “it’s not always as other people would like to hear.”

Whoopi expressed her appreciation for all those who reached out and helped her.

GOLDBERG : I would like to say thank you all who helped me while I was gone. And I’m telling you, people reached out from places that made me go, “Wait, wait. What? Really? Okay.”

HOSTIN: Yeah.

GOLDBERG

And as she wrapped up the introduction, Whoopi suggested the conversations they have on the show were “It is important for us, as citizens and more importantly as human beings..”

Gag.

Whoopi’s early return to The View was made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Ancestry and Lysol. You can find their contact information here.
