The liberal media is hyping Americans to believe that President Biden and his Democrats are their salvation by ramming through another huge spending bill. And on Monday’s Here’s What We Do, CNN White House correspondent John Harwood proclaimed that we all need to “stop and recognize the breadth of” all the achievements of Biden and the Democrats.
Leading into the segment, host Kate Bolduan delightfully announced that the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act adds to a really sudden reversal of fortune for President Biden, who can now celebrate several legacy-defining victories in his first two years in office.”
Being extremely presumptuous with her wish casting, Bolduan seemingly wanted to talk about how “with these” wins the left was sitting pretty in the midterms. But she caught herself, instead wondering: “will these wins be enough to help Democrats avoid what has been feared in the coming — coming up in the midterms, now three months away.”
Harwood was joined by her on the White House grounds. He instructed CNN viewers to pay tribute to the Left. “First of all, it’s important to stop and recognize the breadth of accomplishments that Democrats and President Biden have achieved,” he declared.
He then chided the media for supposedly getting ahead of their skis and reporting that Biden’s tenure as president has been a bust:
It is easy to knowFor those who are involved in politics as a profession, it is dangerous to review the performance before it is over. So, it was established that Democrats are inefficient and that President Biden doesn’t get anything done. Now, he has both – bipartisan achievements on guns, on infrastructure, on semiconductor investment, on veterans’ health care. Also, there were some major partisan successes. Of course, the American rescue plan was last year. It is now the biggest ever U.S. investment in climate change mitigation.
“Those are big substantive achievements. These are the things Democrats want to accomplish in politics. And they are now doing them,”He exclaimed.
Harwood also tried to buoy Bolduan’s hopes for the midterms the best he could. “What will this do for their midterms performance? They will be able to benefit from it.This will create a sense of accomplishment around the White House Democrats. It will – has the potential for expanding the enthusiasm of young people on climate and older people on those Medicare provisions,” he said.
He did say it likely wouldn’t be enough to help Democrats hold onto the House, but it could help in the Senate:
It is possible to lose control of congress, but will that be enough? This is a completely different story. These historical trends are extremely powerful. Republicans will need just a few more seats in order to take control of the House. Historical precedent shows that Republicans only need a few seats to win the House. Senate’s a more competitive situation. Due to the shaky Republican nominees, there is a strong chance that President Trump will retain control of Senate.
“That would be in and of itself an achievement for his last two years. It would let him get judges through, get nominees confirmed,” he touted.

KATE BOLDUAN Will these victories be enough for Democrats to avoid being voted out of office in the coming — three months from now — midterm elections?
Let’s move on to CNN’s John Harwood. He’s been looking at this. He’s live at the White House for us at this hour. John, can you tell me what you see?
JOHN HARTWOOD: Kate, let’s first acknowledge the vast array of achievements that President Biden and Democrats have made.
We all know that one danger for those of us who speak about politics professionally is writing the review after the play has ended. So, it was established that Democrats are ineffective and that President Biden doesn’t get anything done. Now, he has both – bipartisan achievements on guns, on infrastructure, on semiconductor investment, on veterans’ health care. Also, there were some major partisan successes. Of course, the American rescue plan was last year. It is now the biggest ever U.S. investment in climate change mitigation.
These are significant substantive accomplishments. They are what Democrats were elected to do. These are the things they’re doing now. They have some Republican help.
What will this do for their midterm performance? It will, of course. This will create a feeling of success for Democrats at the White House. It will – has the potential for expanding the enthusiasm of young people on climate and older people on those Medicare provisions.
It is possible to lose control of congress, but will that be enough? This is a completely different story. These historical trends are extremely powerful. Republicans will need just a few more seats in order to take control of the House. The historical trend is that the White House party with the most seats wins more. Senate’s a more competitive situation. Due to the shaky Republican nominees, there is a strong chance that President Trump will retain control of Senate.
It would have been a significant achievement in the last two years. This would allow him to get the nominations and judges passed. The White House and Democrats are feeling confident now that these items are completed. They are also on the verge of passing the Inflation Reduction Act, which will not reduce inflation much. Other things will be done.
BOLDUAN We are grateful.
