Government Corrupts Science With Progressive Nonsense

“Trust the science,” say the media.

According to polls, There are fewer Americans do. This is a valid reason.

“They don’t trust science because science is increasingly untrustworthy,” says science writer Andrew Follet in my New video. “The only group that trusts science right now is Democrats.”

Sixty-four percent of Democrats have “a great deal” of confidence in the scientific community, compared to 34% of Republicans.

True science, which is based on the scientific method, is essential. But that’s not what much of “science” is these days.

Instead, progressive politicians misuse government science today.

Example 1: Conservation activists would like to restrict commercial fishing. They want Congress to pass what they call the “Ocean-Based Climate Solutions Act.” It claims climate change is the “greatest threat to America’s national security” and offers a dubious solution: close more of the ocean to commercial fishing.

Jane Lubchenco was the administration’s climate deputy director. She told Congress of a scientific paper that suggests that more water can be closed to increase catch rates.

Really? This doesn’t make sense.

This is not the case. It was removed. One scientist called its logic “biologically impossible.”

Congress was not told by Lubchenco that her brother-in law had written the paper! She edited it!

Was Lubchenco punished by the White House because of her violations of ethics? No. She was actually co-heading President Joe Biden’s Scientific Integrity Task Force after she testified!

The National Academy of Sciences ban her from the Academy for five years last week. However, she is still part of the White House Scientific Integrity Taskforce.

Unfortunately, most of today’s science is left-wing advocacy.

“New fields like fat studies, African studies, Latinx studies, queer studies,” says Follet, “are essentially entirely fake.”

Fake? They must be. “Experts” in those fields keep being fooled by people who submit gibberish.

Beispiel 2:

A ridiculous paper, “Embracing Fatness as Self-Care in the Era of Trump,” was accepted by Massey University’s “Fat Studies” conference. The conference then invited the paper’s author, “Sea Matheson,” to speak.

Attendees gave Matheson’s speech rave reviews, praising the paper’s description of Donald Trump’s “fatphobia” and inviting Matheson to review other work submitted to their “scientific” journal, Fat Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Body Weight and Society.

Matheson however isn’t a scientist. “She” is actually comedian Steven Crowder, who disguised himself as an overweight woman to expose “ivory tower quackery.”

Crowder is not the only one to deceive today’s “science journals”. James Lindsay, Peter Boghossian and Helen Pluckrose submitted nonsense papers to “grievance studies” journals like Fat Studies, Sexuality & Culture and Sex Roles.

Seven accepted ridiculous papers.

One that took a section of “Mein Kampf” but replaced references to “National Socialism” with “feminism,” was accepted by Affilia: Journal of Women and Social Work.

A paper claiming that dog parks have a rape culture was accepted by Gender, Place and Culture

Follett blames government for this perversion. Leftists are hungry for power and to push their agendas, so the agency’s science departments have been likened to many others in America.

Publication of papers is a way to be known in science. You will often receive more funding. Most of this funding comes from government agencies, such as the National Science Foundation.

“Nobody wants to publish something that goes against the paymaster,” says Follett. “You don’t get published unless the NSF likes your results.”

Example 3: The NSF gave nearly half a million dollars to a team that wrote a paper questioning glacier science because it “stems from knowledge created by men.”

Too many people push for absurdities. Some still believe that climate change is caused by man. Some people believe vaccines do not work. The government doesn’t fund junk science of the right.

My tax dollars are used to fund leftist propaganda.

Unfortunately, most Americans don’t care. This is probably due to the fact that they are unaware of how much money government spends on progressive advocacy.

“We’ll all start caring when the bridges start falling down and the planes start crashing,” says Follet. “That’s the inevitable end result of this.”
