Sunday Meet the PressDuring the panel discussion on the continuing Democrat Party obsessiveness over “voting right”, Sara Fagen, Republican Party strategist, questioned Cornell Belcher, leftist Democrat pollster, about the fact that voting in America is now easier than ever.
Anchor Chuck Todd attempted to shame Fagen over her refusal to vote for the Democrat’s balloting bill. She asked her if “any penalties” were imposed on Republicans who are seen as being on the other side. Fagen didn’t like this. Instead, she ignored Todd and ripped apart the mask of the Democrat Party that claimed their voter reform bill was needed to deny people the right vote.
Look, my thoughts are that voting in the United States is easier than ever. Voting rights are primarily about empowering the Democratic base. Voter IDs are supported by the majority of Americans. It’s easy to get an American ID and you don’t have to pay much if it isn’t affordable. You know that mobilizing the base is a big part of all this. That is something that I believe most Americans recognize, especially independent Americans. So I, I don’t– this is an issue that’s not gonna pass, and I think this is just about the base.
Todd tried quickly to divert the conversation from Fagen’s direction by calling Anna Palmer (Punchbowl News cofounder), but Cornell Belcher, Democratic pollster, intercepted her and challenged the logic and facts Fagen presented.
Belcher laughed off Fagen’s attempts to stop him, but he was frantically trying. “it is not that easy to vote in America, if you happen to look like me and you’re in Georgia, standing in line for six or seven hours to vote. Even if your appearance is similar to mine, voting in America can be difficult. Belcher also claimed it was the who, “intentionally shut down voting polls for places that cater to minorities and people who actually vote Democratic. Over 200 laws have been passed in the last year, since black and young voters flipped state and Hispanic votes won. Sara. Today, it is more difficult to vote in America than ever before.
Fagen replied that it is the south which currently enjoys more access to vote than the northern ones. Fagen made it clear that she believed the following: For the past ten years, “early voting, absentee voting, and these are growing.” Each year, more and more voters vote using these methods.
Actually, she was so strong that Belcher gave up his main point. However, he did find a way for him to fault Republicans.
It’s been growing every decade, it’s been growing and, and, but have you seen what the state legislative bodies have been doing? You’re right, it has been growing. This has happened and it’s growing. More Americans are voting and they’re bringing those back.

CHUCK TODD – Sara Fagen: Is there a penalty for Republicans who are not in agreement with this issue?
SARA FAGEN, Republican Strategist: First of all, the United States makes it easier than ever for people to vote. Voting rights are mainly about animating the Democratic base.
TODD: Anna Palmer–
CORNELL BELCHER, Democratic Pollster: Chuck!
TODD: Go ahead.
[Crosstalk]
BELCHER: My friend Sara has been telling me how difficult it is for Americans to vote. It is not that easy to vote in America, if you happen to look like me and you’re in Georgia, standing in line for six or seven hours to vote. Even if your appearance is similar to mine, voting in America can be difficult. Right? This was done deliberately. Republicans intentionally blocked voting for minorities or people who are Democratic voters. Since the rise of black voters and young people, you’ve witnessed over 200 laws passed in this past year. Hispanic votes have flipped many states. Sara. Today, it is more difficult to vote in America than ever.
FAGEN: It’s more accessible in the South than in Cornell. These are growing trends over the past decade, with absentee voting and early vote increasing. Each year, more people vote through these methods. That’s why I don’t believe that is true.
TODD: Alright.
BELCHER: It’s been growing every decade, it’s been growing and, and, but have you seen what the state legislative bodies have been doing? You’re right, it has been growing. The trend has grown and Americans are now voting to bring back these things.
TODD: Although I don’t like having to stop, it is the reality of a 1-hour-long show. This is all that we have today. It was a great panel. Thank you all. Next week, we’ll be there. If it’s Sunday it’s Meet the Press.
