Surprise news about the resignation this afternoon of a member in Congress.
Initially, vague reports about a member from California “retiring” had people speculating Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters was going to call it quits. Devin Nunes (R. CA) has resigned and should be out by January.

Nunes helped expose the Trump-Russia hoax. Nunes stood by himself at times, as Republican Congressional Members fled the hill, unwilling or able to pose the difficult questions. While some (formerly) on right mocked Nunes’ pursuit of truth, David French called for Nunes to resign in an infamously wrongheaded display of weakness. While most Republicans gave up, Nunes continued to push the issue.

The California congressman finally was able uncover Carter Page’s FISA abuse. This confirmed long-standing suspicions, which led John Durham to continue his investigation. History has also shown that Nune’s memo on Trump-Russia was far more accurate than the memo that Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff put out.
Nunes is now heading where? He is slated to become the CEO of Donald Trump’s new media company, a job that will surely pay a lot better. While some might try to make fun of his work, the facts are clear. Devin Nunes rightly pointed out the Trump-Russia hoax and no amount blather could change this.
Republicans must consider whether Nunes was a favorite of theirs. GOP voters desire representatives that aren’t afraid to discredit Democrat narratives. This can often mean not caring about MSNBC’s opinions. But if you are telling the truth, it will be accepted.
