Border Patrol Agent Gives Trump a Piece of U.S.-Mexico Wall – He’s Putting It in Oval Office

“Gloria Chavez is gonna be disowned by her family.”

A U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agent gave President Donald Trump a piece of the U.S.-Mexico border wall Friday in a display of gratitude for the president’s support of the immigration enforcement agency, the Washington Examiner reported.

Trump, who was in Calexico, Calif. as part of a tour of Mexican border barriers, told reporters he will place the mounted slice of the wall in the Oval Office.

Gloria Chavez, chief border patrol agent of the El Centro sector, handed the piece taken from a section of the newly constructed 30-foot-tall metal wall to Trump. “We went ahead and secured a piece of the new border wall that is out here in the El Centro Sector,” she told the president.

Chavez is Latina, a fact that some commenters felt added significance to the gift to Trump.

“Gloria Chavez is gonna be disowned by her family,” wrote one Twitter user. “Chief Gloria Chavez is more proof you don’t need to be white to enable white supremacy. Fuck her and fuck her shitty plaque’d piece of the ‘wall’ idea of a gift for 45,” said another incensed commenter.

The metal slice contains a plaque with an inscription. “Mr. President, the agents and employees of the U.S. Border Patrol, El Centro sector, are the tip of the spear, proudly defending America’s borders,” the inscription reads. “In recognition of your commitment and unwavering support for the men and women on the front lines and the border security mission of the United States, we would like to present you with this piece of the first 30-foot border wall installed along the United States border with Mexico.”
