Giuliani to Fox News’ Chris Wallace: ‘When Did Mueller Become God?’

“When did Mueller become God?”

President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani sparred with Fox News host Chris Wallace during a contentious interview Sunday.

Wallace challenged the former New York City Mayor, grilling him on whether Trump’s actions as detailed in the recently released Mueller report amounted to obstruction of justice. Giuliani responded by bringing up Trump’s one-time political rival, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and invoking the divine.

“Mueller says the injury to the justice system is just as great; it doesn’t matter if there was an underlying crime, it’s still obstruction,” Wallace told Giuliani.

“Well, when did Mueller become God?” Giuliani retorted.

“There was no injury, by the way,” Giuliani continued. “We’re talking about something that didn’t happen. There was no obstruction.”

Giuliani argued that Clinton’s actions, such as deleting emails while under investigation by the FBI, constituted real obstruction.

Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s long-awaited report found the Trump campaign did not collude with Russia. Mueller declined to make a final determination on whether or not Trump obstructed justice, was released to the public on Thursday.

After the release of the report to the public Thursday, Democrats characterized the information it contains as troubling. While some Democrats have pushed for the unredacted report to be released in an attempt to get more information, others are calling for impeachment proceedings against the president.
