Oh, my li’l Hamlet, the city of Fraser nestled WarmlyLiving in Macomb County is a joy. It is only four miles in size. I know it gets a tad bit quiet on occasion, and yet, there is always a rumbling of someone’s upset belly behind the scenes.
Quite frankly, I love it.
RedState is where I wrote and RedState was where I spoke on my talk. Bourbon on the RocksAbout the place I call home and the hilarious antics of its citizens. Now, most people would say or think “WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL?” but consider the fact that almost all of our state and national officials started in some way, shape, or form on the local level. Unless of course, they are a Kennedy or Bush then they just assume they should start off saving the country — which they never do.
For the past six or more months I have found myself drawn to what is happening at the national level and the Wednesday night events. RedState VIP Chat for GoldTake a look at my fellow compadres Scott Hounsell, I have not been able to give my usual 92.7 percent to some of the nonsense of the ‘Parks over Police’ crowd we have here in the City of Fraser.
Yet once again, just like Michael Corleone in Godfather III…
He is actually wearing a sweater that I believe I might own.
Anyway, here are some of the previous articles I have written about some of the “stuff” that goes on, in this town where it takes just seven seconds to drive through the downtown area.
The Local Approach to Preventing and Execting Corruption. Fraser, Michigan.
Fraser: You should run for office if you ignore sexual harassment claims at City Hall.
For employees, it can be fun and profitable to work in the City Fraser.
As I covered in the last article above, here is just a sampling of some of what people who “say” they care for the city support. Multiple times, people have sued the city for $$.
In just three years we’ve had city employees sue us for various issues, which might seem minor to the people who pay taxes in our small town of less than 15,000 residents.
Ms. Dolland was awarded $180,000 by her ex-employer, and there are others in the area who find it acceptable.
Are you sure?
No matter which side of the issue you are on, the main concern should still be the provision of vital public safety services in the city. This is, in small cities, Police-Fire and Medic all wrapped up in one. The city needs to be stabilized with eight cut officers and city-run dispatch being cut in the same amount of time as the lawsuits.
Fraser’s citizens should look into this post and any others that may be forthcoming. They will cut through the noise from those who talk without knowing and will ask tough questions about those in council right now and for those they wish to be.
If you truly want to put ‘Fraser First,’ you need to do this.
These are just some of the many crays that go on around here.
There are many aspects to keeping a city in good shape. One of these is the Planning Commission. This board, like most aspects of a municipality’s operations, sounds dull. If you are interested in having something done to your property or to be able to make changes to it, there is a procedure that must be followed. You’ll likely visit these people.
So, this board–and who sits on it–matters.
At the Fraser City Council meeting on Thursday, there will be an item for re-appointing three of the current board members and choosing from two candidates to fill the vacancy. Kenny Perry Jr., AKA Gus Miller or Allesandro, is one of the candidates for re-appointment. I’ve had numerous conversations with him. The reason Kenny has a number of identities is that he has run afoul of some of Mark Zuckerberg’s ever-changing, “feelings over facts” rules.
Honestly, who hasn’t?
A month ago I received an alert that Kenny might not be supported by some Council members for re-appointment. He has an unusual sense of humor which he shows on his private pages. When I say odd, I mean it can be a bit crude, and being I am the virtue of truth in these parts, I have told him this–both publicly on my LIVE video shows and privately. To be different from the others who will only smile at you and then stab your back in an attempt to gain favour with other people pretending to live a normal life, I let my unbreakable views and feelings out.
Perry is a board member for more than four years. If anyone has any concerns about Perry’s work, they should speak up. The only thing that would make this town stand out is for them to provide concrete evidence. This would go against the usual small-town nonsense of hearing about someone’s sleeping arrangements or other such little details.
While not a totally fair, apples-to-apples comparison, I think it is safe to say a whole lot of us could use some mean tweets and a couple of $%^& messages from the President who had us at low gas prices and lower inflation. You can complete the task if the lawsuit is not filed against you.
It will be fascinating to see tonight how this vote goes down regarding something routine. But in this town, people seem more interested in taking photos pretending they are doing something rather than doing the actual thing without all of the publicity.
All the juicy information will be available in the coming days.
