My television was always tuned in during the glory days of G4TV. G4TV, which was dedicated to geek culture and featured videogame news, tech news, as well as on-scene coverage at the most important cons. You could find shows such as X-Play and Code Monkeys as well as coverage of E-sports. G4TV was the channel you would choose if your hobby was geeky.
For various reasons, the channel started to fall apart. Some of its most attention-getting hosts wandered off to do other projects and its parent company NBCUniversal didn’t want to invest money for new programming, causing it to stagnate. Viewership began to dwindle, and the network began airing reruns of shows like “Cops” to fill time. The network was finally shut down on New Year’s of 2014.
It was a network that many of us cherished over the years. The network was on the cutting edge of technology, so many people would ask if they would see it again.
G4TV was announced as an online exclusive channel, Twitch, and YouTube in 2021.
While people were enthusiastic, they also felt rightly nervous. It is the Age of the Wise, so many were concerned that the Social Justice crowd, which has attempted to overthrow gaming space, would spread the virus to the G4TV.
People were proven correct after one of its new hosts, Frosk, decided to go on a social justice rant about the social justice community’s favorite topic; sexism in gaming. Within this rant, Frosk painted men as the villains for not liking her because she’s not as “bangable” as previous famous G4 hostesses Olivia Munn and Morgan Webb. Her rant is long and contains all the ridiculous posturing and virtue signaling you’d expect from these kinds of rants, and ended with all the clapping and cheering you’d expect from her fellow cast and crewmates.

Naturally, viewers didn’t react kindly to the rant. This assumption is false that gaming is a sexist-troll haven. They do indeed exist but they are not the main reason for gaming space filth. InthThe space is not occupied by the social justice movement, but it likes to assume it does.
Even worse was the tweets of Adam Sessler, a G4 veteran host, which said some very horrible things about Republicans and conservatives. He even suggested that he could drink Champaign as his Republican family died.
However, to wake up is to be broke and G4 once more faces an audience in decline. Social Blade claims that the number of subscribers has dropped nearly 20% in just 30 days.
It’s unlikely that G4 will completely disappear, but like many gaming and tech websites that decided to lean far to the left, their audience will abandon the brand and move on. G4 will be remembered fondly by people who used it before they turned it into a platform for social justice preaching.
