Freedom Convoy protesters, who had been blocking the Coutts crossing between Alberta and Canada for 18 days, decided to stop their demonstration there Tuesday.
Two factors appear to play into their decision not to stay, Jason Kenney the Premier of Alberta has already dropped vaccination passports. He also proposed a three-step strategy to eliminate restrictions. While they feel they have reached a major point, their efforts also helped to influence policy and people around the globe. They promised to continue their fight against the blockade.
Police also claimed they located a group carrying guns close to the blockade. They arrested several of them because they had rifles or body armor.
They don’t want to have anything to do with that group, this protester says.
We’re moving to Coutts, but not our fight.

Some protestors and supporters appeared to think the report was false. Royal Canadian Mounted Police, (RCMP). claimed This was because it was an organized, smaller group of protesters within a larger group.
But, the police in Coutts didn’t appear to be fearful of the protesters as the Freedom Convoy pulled out. The police shook their hands and hugged them; the protesters also sang ‘O Canada.’

Daniel Bulford worked with the RCMP. He was on Justin Trudeau’s security team, until he quit when they started requiring vaccination. He’s now with the Freedom Convoy, and is one of the organizers in Ottawa. He said that they had received information from sources that there may be a plan afoot from “nefarious” entities to plant guns near the Ottawa protest that might involve the theft of 2,000 guns. So that it wouldn’t be misunderstood, they informed police to let everybody know.
Daniel Bulford (form RCMP Officer) and Convoy Spokesperson alleged on Facebook tonight that weapons could have been planted around the convoy. This was specifically in reference to a stolen truck with 2000 firearms from Peterborough. #cdnpoli https://t.co/AxNhIzq2Je pic.twitter.com/Ph6fvImJbm

Two thousand firearmscan be a big problem and even if it doesn’t have to do with the protesters, just the report and even this announcement could precipitate more action from the police. So, it’s a troubling development. Let’s hope it doesn’t portend problems coming to Ottawa.
