Voters in Tuesday’s Kansas primary are faced with a ballot measure seeking to repeal a right to abortion in the state’s constitution. The first nation state to decide on this issue is Kansas, which was overturned by the US Supreme Court. Roe v. WadeThe month of June. It is June. They are both worth itAn amendment would give the legislature greater powers to regulate abortion, by overriding a Kansas Supreme Court decision in 2019. After failing to get a majority vote in the House in 2020, the issue was referred to legislatively for consideration.
The proposed amendment’s language is:
“…because Kansans value both women and children, the constitution of the state of Kansas does not require government funding of abortion and does not create or secure a right to abortion…”
Supporters of the amendment are tight-lipped about what regulations or potential bans they intend to see brought through the Republican-controlled legislature, while the opposition and their mega-donors are spending heavily to protect the abortion industry in the state. The current state law permits abortions up to 22 weeks of gestation.
Kansas’ primary elections are dominated by Republicans. However, the issue of abortion (and its major spending) have fueled record voter participation. Non-partisans can vote on ballot measures.
Karine Jean-Pierre (White House Secretary) asked about the measure two week ago. She encouraged voters participation.
“And so the President has been very clear: To make sure that Americans get their voices heard and take it to the ballot box, that is the way that we’re going to see real change. That is the way that we can use our political power.”
We all know what the left loves to do with its political power.
During a campaign, a student for life was attacked.
Breaking: The pro-life student who broke @SFLAction door knocking for the Kansas Value Them Both Amendment was just assaulted by a pro-abortion woman, who chased her & repeatedly hit her. The pro-abortion side is angry & wounded. Proud of this student & her peaceful witness for life.
