Fauci and Walensky Attended Gridiron Dinner Linked to D.C. Elite COVID Outbreak – Opinion

This week’s COVID epidemic is affecting the D.C. elite. Many have contracted it following Saturday’s Gridiron Club dinner.

Thomas DeFrank (Club president) stated that at most 14 people had taken it with them after the dinner.

In a note sent to Gridiron members, club president Thomas DeFrank wrote, “As of 4 p.m. Wednesday, we know of 14 guests at Saturday’s dinner who have tested positive for Covid. We don’t know the date they contracted Covid. They did however interact with guests throughout the evening and it is possible to predict more cases. Except in cases of public officials who have on their own disclosed their status, we will protect the privacy of guests who test positive.”

Attorney General Merrick Grland and Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, who were both featured speakers at the event, as well Jamal Simmons, who serves as Kamala Harris’ communications director. Rep. Adam Schiff, D-CA and Rep. Joaquin Castro D-TX have both tested positive.

That’s a small list of people who are confirmed positive. Six members of press, members of National Security Council staff and White House staff also test positive.

Joe Biden didn’t go to the dinner, but people like Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), Dr. Anthony Fauci, and Centers for Disease Control director Dr. Rochelle Walensky did. Fauci was not among the many people who wore masks at the dinner. While people had to get vaccinated, there was no requirement to submit to a blood test. There wasn’t any social distancing either. Just another reminder that vaccination doesn’t prevent you from spreading it. There were even skits in which actors acted as coronaviruses, large green balls that bounced and red frills. And they had a performer pretending to be Fauci singing to the real Fauci in the audience: “Doctor, doctor, give me some clues, we’ve got a bad case of COVID blues.” That might have hit a little closer to home than they thought.

According to Kamala Harris’ press secretary, even though she was in constant contact with Simmons and Kamala Harris, she will continue her public schedule.

Simmons attended the White House event during Barack Obama’s visit. Obama was diagnosed three weeks ago with COVID. The White House event was not attended by mask-wearing individuals. Biden, Harris and other White House officials attended the event.

Here’s a video of him hugging Obama.

The Gridiron dinner looks great. We likely haven’t seen the end of people announcing yet, when you take into account the dinner and then the White House Obamacare event.
