Fox 5 Las Vegas reports that there was a minor explosion and fire at Hoover Dam, which prompted an immediate response from Boulder City’s Fire Department.
“[T]Before the arrival of Boulder City Fire Department, the fire had been extinguished. Bureau of Reclamation/ Hoover Dam will be handling any additional questions,” the official account of Boulder City wrote in a tweet.
#Hooverdam – the fire was extinguished before Boulder City Fire Department arrived on scene. Additional questions will be handled by the Bureau of Reclamation / Hoover Dam.

Video of the incident shows smoke billowing out, with one tourist saying they “heard an explosion.”

At this point, the cause of fire remains unknown.
