After minimal coverage Friday morning of the violent assassination attempt of New York Republican Congressman Lee Zeldin as he campaigned for governor, ABC’s World News Tonight CBS Evening News He dismissed the assault, calling it a keychain. Und NBC Nightly NewsThe attack was ignored and we will instead focus our attention on luggage lost at airports.
During Good Morning AmericaABC took 58 seconds to respond. You don’t seem to want to get outdone. World News TonightTheir coverage was cut by half with Whit Johnson filling in as anchor. This takes just 24 seconds.
Showing grainy images of the attack, Johnson said the attack was a “dangerous moment” but never showed the weapon which, in other clearer images available online show, was just inches from Zeldin’s throat.
“Zeldin wasn’t hurt. Investigators tell ABC News the suspect is a 43-year-old Army vet who receives treatment for alcohol abuse and anxiety,” Johnson added. He also noted the attempted assassin was released from jail but didn’t have anything critical to share about that.

This, combined with how quickly the assassination attempt against U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was dropped, makes it look as though the networks don’t care about the lives of conservatives.

Lee Zeldin, Congressman of New York was speaking before a small audience when a male approached and attacked him. Zeldin didn’t get hurt. ABC News was informed by investigators that Zeldin is an Army veteran aged 43 who has been receiving treatment for anxiety and alcohol abuse. Within 24 hours of the attack, the suspect had been arrested and was charged.
