In a Friday evening liberal screed disguised as a report on ABC’s World News TonightAfter the Supreme Court Justices were overturned, Terry Moran and David Muir had a larger audience with which to vent their hate. Roe V. WadeThe incident occurred earlier in the morning. Between the two, it’s clear the network was in mourning for the nonexistent “right” to kill an unborn baby.
“And we begin tonight with the historic and sweeping ruling from the Supreme Court. A 6-3 vote supported the conservative majority in overturning Roe vs. Wade,”An announcement was made at the top about a Muir. “The right to choose abortion that had stood for half a century in this country, a nearly 50-year precedent.”
Muir quickly followed this up by a warning about states that trigger laws will go into force immediately after Roe is overturned:
The court handed the problem over to states. 13 states had trigger laws in effect today that ban abortions. Sixteen states have now banned abortion. Missouri, Oklahoma and others are some of them. All in all 26 states have plans to restrict or ban abortions immediately.
And even though they didn’t have anything to worry about, they were living in a liberal country. Muir, however, highlighted protestors in Washington Square Park in New York City.
Moran grumbled about it at the end of the report “upheaval”Roe was overturned. “In a sweeping ruling that overturned a half a century of precedents, five justices ended the right of American women to choose abortion under the Constitution,”He decried it as unfair.
Delivering his biased framing of Justice Samuel Alito’s majority opinion, Moran said it was “scorning the idea that the Constitution protects a right to choose abortion.” “Roe was on a collision course with the constitution from the day it was decided,” was how Alito put it. “It is time to heed the constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”
Moran suggested then that Chief Justice John Roberts had been dragged by an extremist conservative majority.
John Roberts, Chief Justice of the United States joined the conservative majority to uphold the Mississippi law. He insisted that the court didn’t have to reverse Roe. He instead sought a middle way, and pleaded.“But none of these requires us to also make the bold step of completely eliminating abortion as it was first identified in Roe.
“And from the liberal wing,” he touted, “a scathing, agonized dissent.”It was clear that he enjoyed the way former Justice Stephen Breyer, retiring Justice, lashed out against conservative justices and claimed the decision was wrong:
Justice Stephen Breyer says Alito’s ruling was based solely on the fact that Trump has appointed three additional justices, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanagh and Amy Coney Barrett, to cast decisive votes against Roe. “Neither the law, facts or attitudes provide any reason to arrive at a different conclusion than Roe,” Breyer wrote. Breyer stated that nothing has changed except this court.
The last line of the dissident’s speech is: Breyer joined Justices Elena Kagan (and Sonia Sotomayor) in striking a somber note. We dissent “With sadness for this court and more for the millions of American women who today have lost fundamental constitutional protection,”
“The impact of today’s ruling will be immediate,” Moran lamented. “13 states have trigger laws that end access to abortion now that roe is overruled. It is expected that 13 additional states will soon move to ban abortion. Abortion-rights groups are bracing for this new reality in America.”
He promoted the dangerous and hyperbolic rhetoric that President Biden used in his response to the ruling.

June 24, 2022
Eastern at 6:32 p.m.DAVID MURIR: Tonight’s program will begin with the landmark and powerful ruling of the Supreme Court. A 6-3 vote against the conservative majority overturned this ruling Roe vs. Wade. This country has had the right to elect abortion for nearly fifty years.
This court turned the matter over to the state governments. 13 states already have so-called trigger legislations in place that prohibit abortion and will be put into force immediately. Sixteen states have now banned abortion. Missouri, Oklahoma and others are some of them. In total, 26 states are considering banning or restricting abortions.
These images are coming from all over the country tonight, protests and demonstrations. These photos are from New York City. Washington Square Park, at this hour. The crowds are growing outside of the Supreme Court all day. Both sides declare victory and the opposing side is shocked that such a ruling was not made in this country.
A victory for abortion rights advocates celebrating 50 years of struggle. The 50-year old precedent set by abortion rights advocates was overturned and they vow to continue fighting.
The Mississippi law that is the subject of this case was a ban on abortions within 15 weeks. This law was upheld by the court. Five justices went further and overturned Roe. Justice Samuel Alito, writing on behalf of the majority, stated that the constitution doesn’t grant a right for abortion under the protection for liberty and privacy.
Justice Stephen Breyer wrote for the dissent and stated that it is only based on three Trump-appointed justices casting decisive votes against Roe. This decision could open the door to potential problems for other rights, such as contraception or same-sex marriage.
Here’s the map tonight. The 26 states listed below have plans to adopt actions to prevent or ban abortion.
This is all despite American polling showing that a majority believe abortion should remain legal. Recent ABC News polls show that 70% of Americans feel this decision should lie between a woman’s doctor and herself.
Reactions are swift tonight This is a tragic day for both the country and the court, said President Biden. This decision is a terrible error. Trump, the former President of the United States called it “the greatest victory for my life” and took credit for overturning Roe. Pelosi says that this is unfair to women. “Women today have less freedom than their mother’s did,” she said.
We’ll be hearing from everyone tonight.

TERRY MORAN: Today’s Supreme Court hearing was a historic one. Five justices overturned half a century worth of precedents in a landmark ruling ending the American woman’s right to decide whether or not she wants to have an abortion.
By a 6-3 vote, the court upheld Mississippi’s ban on abortions within 15 weeks. Five of these justices even went further — voting against roe or wade.
The opinion today is almost identical to that which was leaked by the court last month. Justice Samuel Alito rejected the landmark 1973 Roe decision, scorning any notion that the Constitution provides a right for women to decide whether or not they want to have an abortion. “Roe was on a collision course with the constitution from the day it was decided,” Alito wrote. “It is time to heed the constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”
John Roberts, Chief Justice of the United States Court of Appeals joined the conservative majority to uphold the Mississippi law. But he insisted that Roe was not necessary for the court. Instead, Roberts sought to find a compromise and said, “None. However, it requires that we also eliminate the first Roe-recognized abortion.”
The liberal wing was represented by a bitter, agonized opposition. Justice Stephen Breyer says Alito’s ruling was based solely on the fact that Trump had appointed three justices, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanagh and Amy Coney Barrett, who cast crucial votes in favor of overturning Roe. “Neither the law, facts or attitudes provide any reason to arrive at a different conclusion than Roe,” Breyer wrote. Breyer stated that nothing has changed except this court.
Breyer and Justices Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor struck a sad note in the last sentence of their dissent. We disapprove of this court and the many million women in America who are now without a basic constitutional protection.
Today’s decision will have an immediate impact. Thirteen states now have laws in place that will ban abortion access once the roe decision is overturned. It is expected that 13 additional states will soon ban abortion. The new reality will be a shock to abortion rights groups in America.
