There was something quite extraordinary about the Twitter outrage at Elon Musk purchasing Twitter.
It would be reasonable to assume that most people would support the protection of free speech on an online platform which has been a part of their daily lives. Liberals are not as enthusiastic. From their reaction, you would think that Musk was an extremist instead of what he is — seemingly a rather centrist libertarian, the guy behind electric cars and space exploration. To the left, Musk was all bad wrapped into one. Why? Because the powers that be didn’t want to lose complete control of one of their media platforms.
For Brian Stelter (and other liberal media members), there was a wahmbulance emergency call. There was also Shaun “Talcum X” King who deactivated his account (but then almost immediately came back). Then Libs of TikTok had a supercut of liberal meltdowns, folks who said they were fleeing for the hills — as though anyone would care. I doubt — despite the various liberal meltdowns — that many will be leaving. It’s a bit like all the folks who said they would be moving to Canada after President Donald Trump won. They’re still here, even now.
It gave Musk a true window into what he was fighting for, “Extreme antibody reactions from people who fear freedom of speech say it all.” That’s a great analogy — the antibody reaction to destroy an infection — the infection of “freedom” — that they can’t take.

He then explained his position, which sounds reasonable.
By “free speech”, I simply mean that which matches the law.
It is against my policy to censor anything that does not comply with the law.
People will demand that government pass laws to limit free speech if they want to be less libertarian.
Therefore, the law cannot be interpreted beyond its limits.

“By “free speech”, I simply mean that which matches the law,” Musk said. “I am against censorship that goes far beyond the law. They will request that government passes laws to limit free speech. Therefore, going beyond the law is contrary to the will of the people.”
It sounds almost right. If it’s illegal — then pull it. If it’s not, even if someone doesn’t like it or thinks it’s “hateful,” you don’t.
Musk also showed how knowledgable he is about why he’s doing this — chastising Twitter for shutting down the NY Post for the Hunter Biden laptop story.
It was clearly inappropriate to suspend the Twitter account of major news organizations for publishing truthful stories.

This is so on-target! He’s showing he knows the problems and that he has a determination to solve them. You can’t ask for more than that, at this point.
This is a wonderful thing.
