Elon Musk stated that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg holds too much control over the platform.
Business Insider Reports on Friday indicated that Musk, who is the most powerful man in the country, was asked whether his influence caused a conflict for his proposal to acquire Twitter for $43 Billion.
He replied that Twitter would not be like Facebook if Mark Zuckerberg owned it. He said, “As far as media ownership goes, Mark Zuckerberg is the owner of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and shares ownership that will make Mark Zuckerberg 14th in control.”
Musk said, “Like, literally.” We won’t allow that to happen at Twitter. He said that his offer to buy Twitter was “not a way to make money” but was instead about promoting freedom of speech.
He noted that while I don’t claim to have the answer, “I think we should be very reluctant to delete anything,” in reference to permanent bans and biased content moderation. And be cautious when it comes to permanent bans. Temporary bans are more effective than timeouts.
