Elon Musk sometimes seems out of place.
It was a super terrible pun, but I felt it right.
Everywhere you turn, the world is currently in crisis mode. Europe is experiencing a little problem as Russia continues to support its neighbor in Ukraine. The Chinese are thinking about when they should do more than flyovers in Tawain and all of this helps contribute to uncertainty in people’s everyday lives and the financial markets.
Everyone can observe the oil market every day. Take a look around the town to see how much petro costs. My colleague Mike MillerHe covered it yesterday in this post: Buttigieg’s ‘Short Term Problems’ Argument Against Keystone XL Is Both Funny and Terrifying. From his article where Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said…
For another minute, I’d like to keep on gazing. You’re absolutely right, the president does not set the price of gas, but he can influence it. While it’s important to release some strategic reserves, considering how little has already been released, this is really a drop in a bucket.
There are things that, while it is highly controversial and has enormous environmental effects. Could the President consider authorizing Keystone Pipeline? Maybe negotiating with Iran.
Buttigieg’s response was ludicrous at best — and a potential strategic disaster at worst.
The president said all options were on the table.
We must also ensure that we don’t chase after temporary solutions for immediate problems. There are other strategic and tactical options that may be more effective in the short-term. For example, you can use the strategic reserve to help in situations such as this.
President Obama has outlined policies to mitigate the effects of volatility in future energy markets [um, huh?]By promoting a more diverse, domestically-produced energy resource for this country.
What did he just say?
Not too long ago in November 2020, America was an oil exporter. We were able to extract so much oil that we could use it and share it with the rest the world. It was an excellent thing for both your safety and for the country which has been dependent on foreign oil for many years.
The kids will say, “Win/Win.”
Now, they are purchasing oil from Russia to pay for their trip into Ukraine. We also discuss buying from the nuclear-seeking Iranians in order help finance that project. Are the Biden foreign team using old French films from World War II to guide peace efforts?
Some smart, successful people are starting to notice this and will speak out. It doesn’t matter if they have to sacrifice their businesses.
Elon Musk, founder of Tesla and Space X:
Hate to say it, but we need to increase oil & gas output immediately.
Extraordinary situations call for extraordinary measures.

He followed up on it with this
Obviously, this would negatively affect Tesla, but sustainable energy solutions simply cannot react instantaneously to make up for Russian oil & gas exports.

“Negatively affect Tesla?”
Duh.
Musk’s brilliance is evident in this, which is probably why he is so successful. The problem is seen through the prism of reality, and Musk correctly finds the solution. It would be 14 months ago that we had achieved a solid level of energy production. Not just the construction of Keystone, but the pumping of numerous wells throughout the country. We should return to this state as soon as possible.
He is willing to take a chance on his company in order for the country to recover rapidly from the disastrous energy policy. His willingness and ability not only to use fossil fuels, but also to eat with it is remarkable. This is why I understand so much about this man, and my colleague at RedState. Scott Hounsell.
This is simply great leadership, and it’s a good sign that not everything is insane in this crazy world.
At least we can try.
