Elon Musk’s pending deal to acquire Twitter has caused an earthquake in the political sphere, with the news industry and the broader left gnashing their teeth at the proposition that there could be one major social media company that isn’t grossly biased against conservatives.
Everybody who thought ahead knew these were coming. Musk, himself, warned Wednesday of the escalating political attacks.
I expect political attacks on me to escalate in the next few months

On Thursday they escalated. Business Insider, an extreme-left newspaper, published a hit piece that was thinly researched and accused Musk of proposing to and exposing himself as a pilot. The report claims that she received a $250,000 severance payment after filing a SpaceX complaint.
SpaceX, the aerospace firm founded by Elon Musk, the world’s wealthiest man, paid a flight attendant $250,000 to settle a sexual misconduct claim against Musk in 2018, Insider has learned.
The attendant worked as a member of the cabin crew on a contract basis for SpaceX’s corporate jet fleet. According to Insider interviews, the attendant accused Musk of showing his penis and offering her an erotic massage in return for exposing it to her.
In a statement signed by the friend of the attendant, this incident is claimed to have occurred in 2016. These details are drawn from the declaration, as well as documents such as emails and records that were shared with Insider.
The documents aren’t shared with the story, as is the case in these media-led allegations. The actual source is a single, anonymous “friend” of the woman who was supposedly paid off over the alleged incident. This makes it difficult to verify the authenticity of the report. Do you have missing information? Is there anything missing? Musk authorized or denied Musk’s account? How much evidence did you have to support the claim that the encounter took place as stated in the story?
These allegations date back six years and have been kept secret by an NDA. They are not accidental that the allegations have come to light at the exact moment Musk is about take away a major weapon from his left.
Musk responded by asserting that there’s more to the story.
After Insider contacted Musk for comment, he emailed to ask for more time to respond and said there is “a lot more to this story.”
“If I were inclined to engage in sexual harassment, this is unlikely to be the first time in my entire 30-year career that it comes to light,” he wrote, calling the story a “politically motivated hit piece.”
This timing is hard to miss. It mirrors past tactics used by the left against people like Brett Kavanaugh, now Supreme Court Justice. Business Insider tried to remove Dave Portnoy in a recent attempt with a sex scandal, but that incident has since dissipated.
Still, I’ll leave room for the possibility the accusation happened as described. However, the lack of details complicates things. If this began as a nude, full-body massage, which is what the story says, what exactly did “exposing” himself entail? According to the report, he also touched her leg with no consent. Is it possible that he only touched her in passing? Did he touch it with his fingers?
Again, the lack of details is the problem, and it’s why these stories should never make it to print. Some semblance of journalist ethics should dictate that it takes more to destroy someone’s life than an anonymous source and some undisclosed documents.
What does this mean for the Twitter deal I have no idea whether there’s some kind of morality clause that could kill things, but my guess is the current Twitter leadership finds a way out, handing the left another victory. The news media ignored or actively supported Joe Biden’s accuser on the record. The long knives have been thrown out by the media because they don’t like Elon Musk. These are just the beginning. Musk should have more to his social media posts than funny ones.
