Doocy Demolishes KJP After She Accuses GOP of Using Migrants as Pawns

After Jean-Pierre claimed that Republican governors used migrants to pawn them by transporting them to Washington D.C., Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy demolished Karine Jean Pierre as press secretary. Jean-Pierre was floundering and struggled to make it through Doocy’s numerous grillings.

It was the first question that came out of the gate: “President Biden ask?”[ed]What can President Xi do to find out the true origins of COVID? Jean-Pierre found this very simple question a bit confusing and started frantically looking through her notes to find an answer.

Jean-Pierre did eventually have an answer but it was only a long word salad. She never replied to Doocy’s question.

Yes, the origins and evolution of COVID. Both Presidents discussed the importance of transparency and security. We have stated repeatedly that the PRC does not live up to scientific norms in data sharing and health. This has been said before, so it isn’t new. And we are—the international community we’ve said this needs more data, they need more information to make clear the determination. We continue working with partners all over the globe to push China to share more information with us and cooperate with the World Health Organization.

Doocy asked Doocy “The DC Mayor wrote to the White House asking for National Guard support with immigrants who had been bussed in from Arizona and Texas.” Do you think the President will approve this request for National Guard?

Jean-Pierre refused to respond and referred Jean Pierre to the Department of Defense. Then she went on about the shameful use of migrants by Republicans as political instruments, which is wrong and it is unacceptable.

She said, “There’s a procedure in place to manage migrants at the borders. This is not it.” “What they’re doing currently that includes expelling migrants as required by court order under Title 42. They could either transfer them to ICE custody or place them in care of local NGOs while they wait for further processing. Again so what Republicans are doing, the way that they’re meddling in the process and using migrants as a political pawn is just wrong” Jean-Pierre huffed.

So the White House would prefer that small cities in Arizona and Texas take care of these immigrants rather than large metropolises like Washington DC. Doocy answered.

Jean-Pierre said, “That’s not what I meant.” “They’re sending migrants to big cities on purpose, using them as a political ploy.”  “If they don’t go to big cities, where should they go?” Doocy retorted. Jean-Pierre snarked that “There’s a process. It was just that simple.”

Doocy shot back “There’s a process and they come to a big city and now the Mayor says she needs the National Guard?”

Realizing she’s running out of non-answers, Jean-Pierre replied “That’s because Republicans are using, they’re using migrants who are coming here for who knows? Because they’re dealing with humanitarian issues back in their country. They’re coming here for a better life and they’re being used, Peter, they’re being used by Republican governors. That is what’s happening.”

Doocy was able to answer one question, but she then frantically called another reporter to interrupt her line of questioning. “Does this make Doocy want to tell the president that this is placing a lot of pressure on small and large cities. Maybe I should close the border?”

“What Republicans do is wrong, and the system is in place. We should respect that process.” Jean-Pierre dismissed the idea and called on another reporter.

PETER DOOCY (Thanks, Karine). Did President Biden today call President Xi and ask about the origins COVID?

KARINE JEANPIERRE: Oh, so about the origins COVID.

DOOCY – I’m sure it has been discussed before, but today is its turn.

JEAN-PIERRE: I’m just saying that the two President [sic]We did talk about health security. This was discussed.

DOOCY

JEAN-PIERRE: We don’t have anything to share on that.

DOOCY: Okay, ah.

JEAN-PIERRE : More than the readout you got.

DOOCY: A different topic. In a letter to the White House, DC’s Mayor asked for National Guard support in assisting migrants from Arizona and Texas who were being bussed into DC. Will the President approve this request for National Guard assistance?

JEANPIERRE You will get the answer from them. I have kept in touch with Mayor Bowser’s team. As I mentioned before, last week I spoke out about Republicans using migrants to their political advantage.

Although there is an established process for handling migrants crossing the border, it is not what you need. What they’re doing currently that includes expelling migrants as required by court order under Title 42. They could either transfer them to ICE custody or place them in care of local NGOs while they wait for further processing. Again so what Republicans are doing, the way that they’re meddling in the process and using migrants as a political pawn is just wrong.

DOOCY. The White House prefers that these immigrants are taken care of in small cities like Arizona or Texas than in large metropolises such as Washington DC.

JEAN-PIERRE : This is what I did not say. This is what I meant.

DOOCY: This is what you meant.

[crosstalk]

JEAN-PIERRE : Yes they are. They’re sending migrants to big cities on purpose, using them as a political ploy.

DOOCY: If they don’t go to big cities, where should they go?

JEAN-PIERRE: There’s a process. It was just what I did.

DOOCY: There’s a process and they come to a big city and now the Mayor says she needs the National Guard?

JEAN-PIERRE: That’s because Republicans are using, they’re using migrants who are coming here for who knows? Because they’re dealing with humanitarian issues back in their country. They’re coming here for a better life and they’re being used, Peter, they’re being used by Republican governors. That is what’s happening.

DOOCY: Does any of this make the president want to say “this is causing a lot of burdens on small cities, big cities, maybe I should just close the border”?

JEAN PIERRE: I am saying that what the Republicans are doing wrong is unacceptable. There is a process and we need to follow it. The legal process is in place, and the Republicans should adhere to it.
