Those of us who aren’t morons know socialized medicine is an awful idea. And we’ve known it for a very long time.
17 Arguments Against Socialized Medicine – November 1, 1960
Socialized medicine is awful – because it is antithetical to human nature. Rudimentary economics is also possible.
Domestically we know all this because there is an example of government-only, socialized medicine called the Veterans Administration.
“The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is full-on government medicine – and has been since 1930. It is a government-only monopoly. And its delivery is terrible, when it isn’t non-existent.
“Untold numbers of veterans are dying waiting for care. We don’t know how many – because government is placing tens of thousands of veterans on secret waiting lists. And government is leaving completely off these lists tens of thousands more.”
To control prices – the VA caps care. This is why there are secret waiting lists.
Surviving War, but Not the VA’s Rationing of Health Care
Government is the problem, just as it has always been.
“And there is zero accountability. After this abomination was identified in 2014 the government actually kept growing the wait lists. And no one has been fired.”
Thomas Sowell, the great Thomas Sowell noted:
“It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong.”
I know: Let’s have DC (further) screw veterans in banking – just as it has screwed veterans in health care. In the name of “helping,” of course. And let’s have Republicans help Democrats do it to them.
Grothman Introduces Bipartisan Consumers Fair Credit Act and Veterans Fair Credit Act
“Congressmen Glenn Grothman (R-WI) and Jesus “Chuy” Garcia (D-IL) today introduced the bipartisan Veterans and Consumers Fair Credit Act (VCFCA).”
A Republican should be able to offer this little bit of absurdity:
“This bill will curb high-cost, predatory payday loans, auto-title loans and similar forms of toxic credit across America.”
This bill is known as a rate-cap. It is government capping veterans’ loan rates. Just as it caps veterans’ health care.
Which those of us who aren’t morons have known is an awful idea. And we’ve known it for a very long time.
How Gas Price Controls Sparked ‘70s Shortages:
“The era of price controls is most remembered for long lines at gas stations….
“Back then, ‘price controls turned a minor adjustment into a major shortage,’ said Thomas Sowell.”
This is a government-imposed cap on loans. According to this, only the wealthiest can borrow money.

Borrow money legally and safely.
Government Corrupts Everything – and Drives Everyone Non-Rich Out of the System
You don’t want veteran to have to resort to black market loans and loan sharks.
Bipartisan DC has been considering imposing a lending price limit.
It’s the Veterans Administration – for lending.
Because DC wants to “help.”
