Joy Behar has praised dictators, yet she has no sympathy for a teenager who’s on trial for murder because he shot people attacking him. On today’s The View, the co-host and her peers cruelly mocked Kyle Rittenhouse’s tearful testimony that he acted in self-defense, with Behar scoffing it was the “worst acting” she’d ever seen and Ana Navarro sneering the teen would eventually run as a Republican Congressman if he escaped jail.
ABC began yesterday’s trial by showing a video of Rittenhouse. He broke down and was relentlessly interrogated. “I did nothing wrong, I was defending myself,” he stated. Afterwards, Behar had no sympathy. “Baloney!” she exclaimed.
This was well received by the audience. Behar mocked the teenager on trial, without ceasing to laugh.
The guy crosses state borders with the AR-15 and his mom. He also has another idiot with him in the car. They are protesting in another state, and he decides to travel there. It then says that it’s self defense. The answer is no. It’s the acting job for crying. I can’t even look at it. This is one of my worst acting roles.
Behar laughed and cheered as the crowd applauded his cruel joke.
Sara Haines, after a grueling take, intervened in order to challenge the 2nd Amendment.
“If you want to defend something, you need to be trained and you need to be in law enforcement or in the military. It’s not up to the average citizen to take it upon themselves to arm them with an AR-15 of all weapons and go somewhere where you know there’s a lot of people,” she stated, saying it was dangerous like Texas’s fetal heartbeat law.
But most of the talk was focused on disparaging Rittenhouse and even, at one point, his mother. Just like Behar has more sympathy for Fidel Castro, Whoopi Goldberg displayed more empathy for the Antifa mob who went after Rittenhouse, including convicted pedophile Joseph Rosenbaum. Even mocked his mom.
“I need to rectify something. The mother was not in the car with him…but she said I couldn’t be prouder of him. She’s a real beauty too,” Behar scoffed.
“Did she tell that to his parents?” Goldberg laughed.
Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro weighed-in later to draw the race card.
CNN Republican Navarro complained Rittenhouse had become a “hero to the right,” while Hostin fretted, “[H]e’s become this right-wing cause celeb.”
While characterizing Rittenhouse as the villain, Hostin suggested that if he went free, right-wingers would have license to go out and start shooting people “protesting:” [click “expand”]
You know what? I think the case outcome will tell us where we stand in America. This is because Jacob Blake, a white officer, was killed seven times. That’s why protestors marched. We know that George Floyd was tried and convicted. However, the sentence for the Capitol Rioter was I tnk up to three years. He was accused of punching a police officer in the head. This case is now closed, so it makes me wonder where all the country is. Kyle Rittenhouse killed three people. One was murdered and the other was hurt. $2 million was paid online to bail him out. This makes me wonder whether he was convicted and if so, does he become a right-wing hero? If not, this is a sign to other like him that jail will not be an option in the future.
Equally nasty Navarro sneered, “If he’s free he’ll end up in Congress, probably.” That terrified Hostin: “He could end up in Congress. Is this a reflection of our national values?” she decried.
The rest of the hosts agreed that if Rittenhouse had been a person of color he wouldn’t have received a fair trial or even made it home from the Kenosha riot.
Goldberg claimed Rittenhouse’s case was proof America was in an “insane asylum:”
We sometimes feel like we are in an insane asylum. Re-acclimating all of us back to our true selves as a nation, and Veterans day. When you consider all of the Veterans who have given so much of their lives in service to this country. Then, there’s this boy with an AR-15-type rifle and who shoots 3 people in open and closed carry. It was all quite bizarre.
The anti-gun media believes there is no reason to allow anyone to own a gun, let alone protect their property or themselves. But Antifa rioters and BLM can still steal, destroy or attack other people and they are presumed innocent.

[plays footage of Rittenhouse trial, “I didn’t do anything wrong, I was defending myself]
JOY BEAR: Ah baloney.
[audience chuckles]
WHOOPI GOLDBERG : What were your thoughts about the testimony? Joy, I understand what you think.
BEHAR: The man crosses state borders with the AR-15 and his mother. He is defending himself against who? He decides to join the protestors in another state. Then it declares that it is self-defense. The answer is no. It’s the acting job for crying. I can’t even look at it. [audience applause]This is one of my worst roles. [chuckles]
SARA HAINES: That is what the problems with regular citizens self-deputizing. To defend something you must be properly trained. You should be either in law enforcement, or the military. The average person shouldn’t be expected to carry an AR-15 with all the weapons, and to go to a place where there are many people. This is not going to work. It’s the same reason why When we look at attack Texas and these abortion laws I don’t right now trust my fellow citizen to arm up and decide what I’m doing right and wrong. You shouldn’t give people the power to do that.
[applause]
ANA NAVARRO Look at Kyle Rittenhouse, a man who has been hailed as a hero. Many people felt visceral reactions when they saw him testify. They put him on the witness stand in order to make them laugh and do these things. Because he doesn’t seem to have any public remorse for the crimes, I believe people were shocked. One thing is certain. There was Tamir Rice, a black 12-year old boy. He was killed and shot because he used a toy firearm. Many people look at the case and wonder how it could have happened that an AR-15-wielding 17-year-old roamed streets and received water.
[Agreement at table, audience]
WHOOPI GOLDBERG : I don’t want to say anything.
JOY BEHAR: I have to correct something. He was driving alone when his mother arrived.
But she said I couldn’t be prouder of him.[scoffs] She’s a real beauty too.
GOLDBERG
BEHAR: No I don’t think so. [Chuckles]
…
SUNNY HOSTIN: Well, you know, I just think that the outcome of this case will be a bellwether of where we are in this country, right, because these protests happened right after George Floyd’s murder a couple of days after, because Jacob Blake was shot seven times by a white police officer and that’s why people were out protesting and you know there was a conviction in the George Floyd case, we know just recently the capitol rioter was sentenced I think to three years for kicking a law enforcement officer in the head. And now we have this case, and so I wonder where the country is, because Kyle Rittenhouse shot three people, two were murdered, one was injured, $2 million cash bail was raised online for him, he’s become sort of this, you know, right-wing star on his social media before he was tried, before this trial, he had — it’s just strewn and decorated with blue lives matter, you know Trump paraphernalia.
HOSTIN: Yes. He was too young to buy that AR-style rifle. He actually had a friend purchase it. He lied to to the crowd told the crowd he was an EMT when in fact he wasn’t . He actually testified that he’s studying nursing at Arizona state university, he’s not. He enrolled October 13th for an online program and that allows you to take classes before applying to the college. He also actually was too young to open carry in the state that he was open carrying and that’s why he’s charged with illegally open carrying. But all of that notwithstanding he’s become this right-wing cause celeb. So I wonder if he’s convicted of this, he now becomes a right-wing martyr, if he’s freed it’s a message to others like him that prison won’t be in their future, and so I do wonder —
ANA NAVARRO: If he’s free he’ll end up in congress, probably
HOSTIN He could end up in congress. What does that say about our values as a country?
BEHAR They’re screwed up right now.
GOLDERG The question of our values is ever-changing, sometimes we’re on top of stuff and sometimes we’re like an insane asylum in a way, we’re seeing it, you know we’re struggling in the middle of it now. Trying to reacclimate all of us to what we’re supposed to be as a nation and on veterans day, when you think all the veterans who have given their lives to this country for the betterment of this country and then here comes this little boy with AR-15-type rifle who shoots three people, in kind of — and open carry. In the midst of all of that.
Protecting property. Apparently what he was doing.
GOLDBERG: Not his property.
HOSTIN: It was a used car dealership. I think we need to make it clear the facts of the case. The first person he shot and murdered was chasing him and he testified to that. Now a group of people started chasing him after as he ran away, because they were yelling he’s the active shooter, now he falls and he shoots another person who’s chasing him because he just shot and killed someone, he also kills that person allegedly in self-defense and wounds a third person allegedly in self-defense.
GOLDBERG: Who’s actually an EMT.
HOSTIN: who’s actually an EMT. So I don’t understand how you are defending yourself after murdering someone and those people are trying to catch you.
GOLDERG Well they let him go home. They let him go home. If I had done that —
BEHAR: Or any black person.
GOLDBERG: Any black or brown person.
NAVARRO: If any black 17 year old boy had been Trolling the streets of Kenosha-
GOLDBERG: They wouldn’t have given a glass of water.
GOLDBERG: I would go to jail if it was possible.
HOSTIN: He wouldn’t have been alive to stand trial. It’s quite telling for those who defend the premise of self-defense. They are claiming that he is a hero.
