Confusion: Pope Francis Planning To Allow Women To Help Select Bishops

Well, here’s another confusing day for the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church already has to deal with numerous issues. Unfortunately, Pope Francis continues to confuse the laity by adding more doctrinal questions.

During his interview, the 85-year old Pontiff talked about many subjects with Reuters. This included the place of women in the Vatican hierarchy. In the Curia, the Curia’s 90-minute interview, he stated that he was open to “giving (women] an opportunity.” According to the new Vatican constitution, any Catholic baptized can head several Vatican departments. This has led to speculation regarding the possibility of women participating in the selection of bishops.

He stated that “Two women” will be elected for the first-time in the Congregation for Bishops committee. This is a step towards things opening up. However, Francis already appointed women to the Vatican’s departments. This is confusing more Catholics. It is very difficult and strict to appoint Catholic bishops. This process must be based on the traditions of the Church. Do this mean women technically have a higher status than bishops? If that’s the case, can women become priests? There is more confusion within the Church because of the potential for women helping to appoint bishops.

Stop confusing the laity with fights. The Church needs to be more active against debauched leftist mobs, and not just shoot itself in self-defense.
