Company Breaks Apart After Years of Lousy Performance – Opinion

Kellogg’s, the iconic cereal company of the Baby Boomer generation, is no longer Grrreat! Tony the Tiger’s house is downright now! Terrrible!  A champion of “woke capital,” the Kellogg Corporation has announced it is breaking into three separate companies after years of disappointing sales performance.

According to Reuters, Kellogg announced Tuesday that it will split into three publicly traded companies. The names of these new entities are yet to be decided. It was a loving hell to be spun. Their board of directors has approved the dissolution.

“Kellogg has been on a successful journey of transformation to enhance performance and increase long-term shareholder value,” said Steve Cahillane, the company’s chief executive and board chairman.

“Value”? Really? Take a look at this 2017 Breitbart report:

Every time an American family picks up a box of Kellogg’s cereal at the grocery store, it is contributing to the wealthy radical leftwing foundation that agitates for open borders, supports George Soros’s Open Society Insitute, and pushes a host of leftwing causes.

W.K. Kellogg Foundation is Kellogg Company’s largest shareholder. According to its 2016 tax filing, the Kellogg Foundation’s trust owns approximately $5.2 billion of stock in the company, about 20 percent of the company’s equity.

Other large owners are mainly passive investors like mutual funds, and they only hold a small fraction. [that of]Foundation. The foundation is effectively in control of the famous cereal business.

Here’s the bottom line:

Kellogg Company is the foundation’s largest holding. It and its trust total $9.1 trillion in assets. The foundation’s other stock portfolios are only $3.3 million.

The foundation is dependent heavily on Kellogg’s profits for its income. The foundation can spend more money on left-wing causes when Kellogg is making money.

When a company is founded by a highly educated person, its profits drop. This means less money available for left-wing radical causes. So what’s the maker of Froot Loops, Pringles, Cheez-It, and Pop-Tarts to do? Let it go and you can start again. The three companies — again, to be named, later — will be, per Kellogg:

“Global Snacking Co.”, with about $11.4 billion in net sales, will be a leading company in global snacking, international cereal and noodles, and North America frozen breakfasts.

“North America Cereal Co.”, with about $2.4 Billions in net sales, will be a leading cereal company in the U.S., CanadaThe, Caribbean.

“Plant Co.”, with about $340 Million in net sales, will be a “pure-play plant-based foods company,” anchored by the MorningStar Farms brand.

While Kellogg’s overall performance has been somewhat erratic over the years, the company’s gross profits have declined in four of the last five years, as reported by Macrotrends:

Kellogg’s quarterly/annual gross profit history, and the growth rate between 2018 and 2022. The company’s gross profit is the net profit after subtracting variable costs associated with manufacturing and selling products or services.

The quarter ended March 31, 2022 saw a decrease of 0.6% in Kellogg’s gross profit to $1.159B.

Kellogg’s twelve month gross profit was $4.553B for the period ending March 31, 2022, an increase of 4.13 percent year-overyear.

Kellogg’s 2021 annual gross profit was $4.56B. This is a decrease of 3.53% from 2020.

Kellogg’s 2020 annual gross profit was $4.727B. This is 7.9% more than 2019.

Kellogg reported a $4.381B annual gross profit, down 7.3% from 2018

Coincidence? I doubt it.

The Capital Research Center’s think tank pointed out in September 2017, “The Capital Research Center: A September 2017 Article” W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s Radical Leftward Drift, “Have some liberal politics with your cereal!” (Emphasis, mine)

If you apply the old Woodward and Bernstein adage “Follow the money,” to the W.K. The Kellogg Foundation is one of the few foundations whose politics are less well understood.

[…]

Kellogg Philanthropy, which was founded in 1926, has contributed hundreds of million of dollars to schools, hospitals and youth centers throughout the world, and especially in remote and underprivileged regions. However, it is not only a charity. has strayed from the goals of its conservative founder, thus betraying what is called “donor intent,” an important concept in the philanthropic community.

Over the years, The Kellogg Foundation has been sending Millions of dollars have been donated to Left-Wing causes such as open-borders organizations, liberal think tank, and other projects funded by George Soros, a billionaire leftist..

[…]

W.K. To improve children’s lives, the Kellogg Foundation was founded. Like many other wealthy philanthropies, it lost its founding beliefs and drifted slowly to the left..

Was that last line a microcosmic reality on the state of today’s Democrat Party, or what?

Let’s get to the bottom of it:

“Classic liberalism” as we knew it has given way to radical leftism. Biological males kick the hell out of biological females in women’s sports. Men who refuse to declare whether or not they’re pregnantYou are denied the chance to offer blood.

Our young children are preyed upon by drag strippers and encouraged to accept their own gender “fluidity” and “self-determination,” with many schools fighting against sharing those conversations with parents.

39 of 50 Senate Democrats support on-demand abortion up to birth. On and on it goes, as the “Party of Tolerance” — “inclusion,” as it were — seeks to censor all morality and pushback from decent conservatives across America.

Meanwhile, let’s hope (and pray, if you will) that more and more “We’re mad as hell, we’re not going to take it, anymore!”Americans are continuing to rise up and declare enough is enough.

Even super-woke cereal businesses.
