By 37 points, Liz Cheney was defeated in her Wyoming primary election. The concession speech was not a declaration of defeat, but rather announcing a new crusade to bring down Donald Trump before 2024.
CNN analyst Nia Malika Henderson correctly explained to her that she had lost Wyoming. It’s the “Beltway media.” It’s more than that — it inspires the Left from New York to Hollywood. It’s both irresistible and impossible to resist.
Cheney is raising money from Democrats in order to make this an even bigger goad at Trump. While many Republicans want to see Trump in a new flavor, it is time to realize that the Democrats desire Trump’s return to the White House. This Trump who fought riot and won’t concede defeat. They desire him to be angry and damaged.
The Democrats and their media partners like the narrative that Trump has a “death grip” on the Republican Party, because death is what they seek. They boast about how they are the saviors of democracy when what they really want is to shut the “ignorant” half of America up.
PBS NewsHourDavid Brooks, pundit was one of the many who talked up Liz for Prez. “She’d be a formidable candidate in some way, I think she’d get a lot of funding,” he said. “She’d get a lot of media attention.” With all this fawning at her feet, she’s already posing as the Abe Lincoln of this century.
He did not say that she would be running to please PBS. The New York TimesJeffrey Katzenberg and other Hollywood moneybags. The liberal-media entry that is making problems within the GOP. The Democrats want her to be “formidable” to do their bidding.
Brooks said the question should be “Could she get on the debate stage with Donald Trump? The Republican National Committee would do everything possible to prevent that.” I’m not sure that is true. The RNC is seeking to avoid subjecting their candidates to “moderators” like John Harwood who sound like a Biden press secretary in waiting.
Then Brooks added “I don’t think there’s a mainstream media organization who would host a Republican debate without Liz Cheney on the stage. That gives it some power. And I assume every non-Trump candidate wants her on the stage.”
Given that Liz Cheney has declared she is almost as bad as Trump and another threat to democracy, I’m not sure why Ron DeSantis would choose Liz Cheney.
Then Brooks claimed that he really felt a month or two ago that “a lot of Republicans wanted to move on” from Trump. After that, Biden’s attorney General approved a raid at Trump’s Florida residence at Mar-a-Lago. So “this is now Donald Trump’s party. Trump can still win the nomination. He will get it.”
Brooks stated that he read from a consultant to DeSantis that the FBI raid had closed off all possibilities for Republicans to win the nomination. We should again ask ourselves: Was this unorthodox government action part of an political plan to grant Democrats the sacrificial lamb in 2024?”
Cheney’s defeat does not mean Trump is in complete control of the Republican Party. It was clear that Republicans control the Republican Party regardless of how liberal media or the Democrats may want it to be run.
