CNN Mocks Manchin’s ‘I’m From West Virginia’ Line About Not Backing Down

CNN’s Day of the NewTuesday morning, Joe Manchin made fun of Joe’s claim that he was a West Virginian and couldn’t be intimidated to support Build Back Better. Day of the NewSeen a clip of Manchin saying

“Well, what do you think? West Virginia is my home. They’re not my country. They can beat people and make them submissive.

John Berman was the cohost and said that he led the charge.

“You can know what you are doing.” When someone tells me, “I’m West Virginian, and we won’t back down from anything,” I love it. That is what people all over the country will tell you.”

Erica Hill was then asked to be the substitute host. Berman says, “I am from Connecticut.” We don’t back down. They call us Nutmeg State because we don’t back down.A state won’t be more supportive than another.”

His past political campaigns included the following: Manchin has aired 2 TV commercials, here and there, which showed him actually shooting parts of legislation. [including a tax on fossil fuels]He was against. This type of advertisement is not something you would see too often in other places.

Berman and his CNN colleagues might wish to believe that there are no cultural differences between the regions and states. Everyone gets news and views from the same liberal media sources.

These differences are, however, not lost on the good people of West Virginia. West Virginia leads the way in maintaining its cultural traditions.

Joe Manchin from West Virginia might not be as resolute than a Delawarean.

CNN mocking Joe Manchin for saying that as a West Virginian he couldn’t be intimidated into supporting Build Back Better was sponsored in part by Walmart, VRBO, ADT, and BMW.

JOHN BERMAN – Senator Joe Manchin has strong words for his rejection of the government’s Build Back better plan.

JOE MANCHIN – Well, what do you think? West Virginia is my home. They’re not my country. They can beat people and make them submissive. Period.

NATASHA ALEFORD: Joe Manchin is a constituent of West Virginia. I am aware that Build Back Better has some benefits for them. So, maybe that’s the right approach. Consider the policies that will impact his constituents. These policies can be rejected by him. He will have to explain his reasons for not supporting them.

JOHNBERMAN – I will take your note. When someone tells me, “I am from West Virginia,” I love that. It is a compliment. That is what people from every state will tell you.

ERICA HILL Massachusetts [Berman’s a Bay State native.]

Berman, I am from Connecticut. We don’t back down. We are the Nutmeg State.

ALFORD – We are all Americans, right? He is also from America!

BERMAN: Right. This is what I meant. It’s like, A state can’t be more supportive than another.
