CNN Continues to Place a Premium on Content That Viewers Have Already Rejected – Opinion

CNN will ignore messages that have been received from the marketplace when it is already heard.

For a second, imagine yourself as a restaurant owner who faces a challenging task with regard to a specific food item. While you can offer many accompaniments for your main courses, there is one thing you aren’t seeing. You notice that all your potatoes in your walk-in freezer are starting to go bad. This is due to the fact that very few people order potatoes as side dishes. This is how you can address it.

A pile of expired potatoes is not something a restauranteur should look at. Yet, this is the very decision that has been arrived at in CNN’s Atlanta offices. Brian Stelter (in-house media expert) has announced that he will be hosting a daily program for the new CNN subscription.

CNN+ is the new streaming service that will be launched in March. Many people are curious about what this premium package might look like. CNN has lost viewers rapidly over the last year. All news networks experienced a decline in viewership following the election. However, Fox News and MSNBC have mostly rebounded. Some examples show ratings rising.

CNN has been in constant decline and is now mired in scandals as it tries to launch a new venture. Many have asked the question, “How can they expect to attract significant amounts of paid viewers when people turn away from their FREE product?”!

Stelter was given a daily platform to illustrate this paradox. Stelter’s Sunday program Reliable sourcesconstant threat to viewership. Brian faces Howie Krtz of Fox News in the 11 AM slot. Media Buzz is a direct competitor in the coverage of the press and other media-related topics, and who has, for some time now, more than doubled Stelter’s audience.

The challenge is even further revealed when looking over Brian Stelter’s own promotion of the new venture. Brian Stelter was promoting his daily program through his newsletter Reliable Sources. However, he managed to get under the radar. You can reduce things quite a bit.

Simply put: If you enjoy this newsletter, you’ll like this new show.

This means that the program that requires a paid subscription will be like the newsletter, the Sunday program, and the podcast — all of which Stelter already provides at no cost. So, the incentive to subscribe to the service is…what? Given the increasing apathy associated with those services, CNN believes that viewers should be given more. MoreDrawn content from this site?

The best thing for the network would be to give up. AnythingOther than what they broadcast each day. The audience has been steadily walking away from the CNN midway for some time; why they think opening up additional carny booths is a good idea is anyone’s hypothesis. However, this is what the outlets are thinking. Stelter defended his network following the Zucker ouster, saying “We aren’t going anywhere!”

Now, he did not mean that in the context of a car broken down on the side of the road — but that is the network’s reality for now.

Even though Jeff Zucker had been let go after leading the network into an Iceberg and watching the ratings drop consistently, Stelter said that continuing with the failed format would be the best option. CNN spent a whole year obsessing about January 6, and saw people blame the GOP decreasing, while it continued to carry the Big Lie narrative most of the time. The script has been ignored by voters, who quickly moved on to other media outlets after all the Trump attacks, Joe Biden defenses and Trump insults.

CNN is so certain that if we believe that giving us more of the spoiled fare and charging extra for those servings will bring success, then let’s make this new menu. I believe reservations won’t be necessary to get a seat at this new paid platform.
