ABC’s Sparks Fly! This Week“Powerhouse Roundtable” was a discussion among media professionals about their realizations that Hunter Biden is actually using a laptop and that the younger Biden has business deals in China and Ukraine. This wasn’t Russian disinformation. Chris Christie, Former Governor (Republican from NJ), was not disappointed when he allowed his fellow panelists and the vast majority of the leftist media to have their say over the refusal to cover Hunter Biden’s scandals. While they were ignoring the fake Russian dossier by Hillary Clinton that claimed Trump colluded in Russia, he did so with the full support of the other panelists.
The Hunter Biden scandal wasn’t just fodder for the panel, anchor George Stephanopoulos even asked Biden White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain about the President’s son’s mounting legal troubles. Klain responded that President Biden was confident Hunter did not break the law after Klain asked if he believed so.
Moving along to the panel, Stephanopoulos mentioned The Washington PostThe shocking confirmation by Hunter of all the criminal activity that Hunter was involved in is a telling sign The Washington PostRuth Marcus, a member of the s Ruth Marcus “Many of the right say it’s too much too late for Washington Post now, after having dismissed these claims through the entire election.”
Marcus defends her paper. She makes excuses for not looking into it. They were faced with a huge dilemma as they attempted to solve the real-time reporting on that laptop. Even blaming herself “Russian disinformation”This is one reason why the Post did not even try to verify the laptop story.
Stephanopoulos then went to Astead Shendon The New York TimesThe other major newspaper, a local one that was not interested in the story but is now confronting reality. “Are there implications to The New York Times?” Stephanopoulos asked Herndon. With The New York TimesRespondent: Reporting facts is easy and you can follow the trail wherever they lead.
Christie came in, and set the record straight.
The idea that somehow when making the Hunter Biden decision in the midst of an election campaign, you’re saying oh we have to be careful about Russian disinformation, but all through 2016, 2017 we now know that it was the Hillary Clinton campaign that was creating that dossier paying for it. This was what led to a New York Times Pulitzer Prize!
“A separate FBI investigation was conducted based upon completely different evidence.” Stephanopoulos rebutted. Christie replied Operation Crossfire Hurricane concerned the Russians’ potential intrusion into the Trump campaign. This was built on the dossier.
Christie made it clear that left-leaning media were not only working to hide the Bidens in the 2020 election but also Twitter was shut down The New York PostHunter’s laptop reporting account:
Twitter took down The New York Post Twitter account for reporting on Hunter Biden’s laptop. This is now confirmed to be true. So let’s just call it what it was. (…) The New York Post had it right and The Washington Post” and The New York Times had it wrong. Now you can decide, everyone will decide what the motivation for that was, whether it was simple error, whether it was not sufficient reporting, whether it was bias, everyone’s going to have their opinions on that. The facts are that the New York Post was right last year during the campaign, while other media outlets were wrong.
Donna Brazile, ex-chair of the Democratic National Committee tried to minimize the significance of the Hunter Biden scandal claiming “Hunter will not be a conversation starter this midterm.” Hunter is going be a conversation starter for all those who love salacious gossip.

ABC’s This Week

Eastern, 9:46:47GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS – Brazile also faces down. It is a huge decision concerning Hunter Biden.
DONNA BRAZILE : Yes. Let’s see, Delaware is our next stop. This case originated in Delaware. You know what? Based on the Washington Post article and other investigations with Hunter’s computer, we are learning a lot about Hunter and what could have happened because Hunter left his laptop in a shop for repair and they now have the hard disk.
(…)
STEPHANOPOULOS – Ruth Marcus was reported by the Washington Post this week, as Ron Klain and I discussed with Ron Klain. More on Hunter Biden’s relations with China. Many on the left have said that it is too late for the Washington Post now to speak out after having dismissed these claims throughout the election.
RUTH MARUS: At this point, I believe I should state that I am representing the Washington Post’s editorial side. There are many — I believe that the Washington Post faced an enormous dilemma as they attempted to handle the real-time reporting on the laptop. While we knew of Russian disinformation efforts, news media also knew. Don’t jump on that opportunity to make a report about something you don’t like. However, it’s not a good idea to put your finger on every scale. Journalists don’t have to be biased for either side. So I’m not going to second guess the decisions that were made. Although I believe there is a lot more interesting reporting that can be done. It’s a great thing that this is being looked at now. Hunter Biden may not be the only relative of a politician to profit from his father’s power and access, but this is not a particularly attractive story.
STEPHANOPOULOS – Are there any implications for The New York Times
ASTEAD HERNDON : I do not think so. There’s nothing to be afraid of reporting facts and watching where they go. My Washington colleagues have done this type of work for years. It’s clear that the newsroom has the full backing to cover the truth wherever it goes. This hasn’t yet reached the public consciousness on both the political and election side. We know that it will be a Republican effort to push this narrative and to get the electorate motivated. We haven’t seen that yet but they’re going to try.
STEPHANOPOULOS : Merrick Garland will have to resist any pressures from Republicans regarding this matter.
CHRIS CHRISTIE (Chief): That’s what you do as Attorney General. But look, the idea that somehow when making the Hunter Biden decision in the midst of an election campaign, you’re saying oh we have to be careful about Russian disinformation, but all through 2016, 2017 we now know that it was the Hillary Clinton campaign that was creating that dossier
You have to pay for it. This was what led to the New York Times Pulitzer Prize!
STEPHANOPOULOS
CHRISTIE: But George, no no George, look. Operation Crossfire Hurricane concerned the Russians potential infiltration into Trump’s campaign. That was the basis for Operation Crossfire Hurricane.
[Crosstalk]
MARCUS: The dossier was not published by most news media organizations.
CHRISTIE. Ruth published the dossier. However, they pursued it vigorously and called it fact. Twitter shut down The New York Post’s Twitter account in the Hunter Biden matter. They reported on Hunter Biden’s laptop, which is now completely accurate. So let’s just call it what it was.
STEPHANOPOULOS – Chris, no one reported on the dossier in the course of the campaign
CHRISTIE Now you can decide, everyone will decide what the motivation for that was, whether it was simple error, whether it was not sufficient reporting, whether it was bias, everyone’s going to have their opinions on that. The facts are that the New York Post was right last year during the campaign, while other media outlets were wrong.
MARCUS – Is The Washington Post allowed to write about a hard drive it doesn’t own at the time Rudy Giuliani gave it? I mean it’s not an easy call if you’re an editor.
CHRISTIE – They covered a lot about Russian intrusion into the Trump campaign, which turned out to have been flat wrong and dead wrong.
BRAZILE George, we understand Hunter Biden’s situation. We know Hunter sells artwork which is highly valued. Hunter is, and we both have nude photos. – I’m not sure what’s right or wrong. But I’m going to tell you one thing, Hunter is not going to be a conversation piece this midterm. Hunter will not be a conversation starter for anyone who loves gossip. George: The economy and how Americans feel about themselves and their finances, as well as the impact of the war in Ukraine on their lives, will be the conversation piece. This won’t just affect us at the pump but also at our grocery stores, where we’ll soon have to buy wheat, barley, and bread. The American economy will be hurt by this war.
