CensorTrack with TR: Big Tech HATES CHRISTmas!

It’s Episode Seventeen of MRC’s newest video series, With TR, CensorTrack This week we’re talking about how Big Tech is acting as the Grinch by censoring pro-Christian- and pro-Christmas-related content.

Last December, the Pro-Life Action League Twitter page advertised their annual “Nationwide Peace In The Womb Christmas Caroling” event. The event is held in front of abortion clinics around the country throughout December. Twitter placed a sensitive content filter in the advertisement.

Facebook set a sensitive filter on an image showing Santa kneeling next to baby Jesus. Around the same time, a Snopes report suggested that calling a sensitive content filter “censorship” was an “exaggeration.” However, sensitive content filters suppress content and limit reach. Facebook claimed in 2018, that Santa and baby Jesus were not being censored. However, it was found the exact same image still being censored by Facebook in 2020.

The Legal Insurrection’s verified Facebook page posted a remembrance article of soldiers who fought on Christmas Eve 1944 during WWII. It was shared more than 50k times in 2019 but only 8,430 people saw it when it was updated in 2020. That’s more than an 83% decreaseFrom one year to another. The Legal Insurrection implied that the position was being abolished.
