Carolina Panthers Hire NFL’s First Openly Transgender Cheerleader

Carolina Panthers fans can expect a surprise from the team during the next season.

The Panthers became the first NFL team to hire an openly transgender athlete to it’s cheerleading team. Justine Lindsay will perform on Sundays for the TopCats, an openly transgender woman who is posing as a woman.

Lindsay went public as transgender on March 1, but Chandalae Lanouette, TopCats director, said Lindsay’s inclusion was not a result of that.

“My goal is to create a team of individuals that are absolute fire on the field but are incredible human beings in the locker room, good friends, good people, and at the end of the day, you have to walk through the door first to get to that spot,” Lanouette said.

Lindsay responded to the news by updating her Instagram account with a statement that she will be responding to all negative comments.

The caption reads: “Understand that we are all Gods children, that he is an awesome God from sun up to sun down. He is my life. Negative hate stay away.”

It’s funny that Lindsay mentions he lives through God, because nowhere in Scripture do we see that God condones or approves of anyone that changes their gender. God designed all humans to be either male or female (Genesis 1:27). It is against God’s order that anyone attempting to alter their gender on the basis of how they feel, is rebelling. So Lindsay isn’t doing something that pleases God, and his attempt to get others to empathize with him and his actions further adds to the twisted nature of his actions.

It’s disgusting that the NFL just continues to make a fool of itself by doing stuff like this. The days of watching football were something I looked forward to.
