BREAKING: Disgraced Chris Cuomo’s TV Career Resurrected by NewsNation

Back from the dead and starved for brains, disgraced former CNN host Chris “Fredo” Cuomo would be getting a second chance at hosting a primetime cable news show on NewsNation. The move was announced on Tuesday night’s edition of Dan Abrams Live on NewsNation where Cuomo suggested he was “going to try very hard to be fair,” wasn’t out to “hurt anybody,” nor “play gotcha.” Off to a dishonest start.

The move, which will likely cripple NewsNation’s credibility as an honest news source, came after a lengthy and pressing interview between Abrams and Cuomo, with the former being an admitted long-time friend of the latter.

“So, we’ve asked Chris Cuomo the tougher questions. He talked with us about The Chris Cuomo Project podcast. But there’s something else big and I mean, big on the horizon for Chris Cuomo,” Abrams teased.

Cuomo praised his friend first for interviewing him. “I want to help. “I want to be able to assist people. NewsNation is my destination. It’s my goal to make this a special place.Dan and the rest of this team should work together. Their team is full of great people. We’re really hungry to make a difference in ways that I think matter.”

Cuomo suggested that the reason he didn’t want to go back to one of the larger news networks was that “I can’t go back to what people see is ‘the big game.’” “I think we need insurgent media. I think we need outlets that aren’t fringe and just trying to fill their pockets,”He stated.

But in reality, it’s likely because he’s radioactive so no other network would touch him, and NewsNation is small/desperate enough to take the risk.

“I’m going to do the job, I’m going to go where the news is and I’m going to try very hard to be fair,” Cuomo added.

Describing how his show was going to be run, Cuomo gave a false analysis of how he’s conducted his shows in the past:

My shtick, however, is not having any shtick. These are the questions I am going to ask. It’s a pleasure to be in conflict. I enjoy friction. I love friction. I don’t want to cause any harm. I don’t want to hurt anyone. I won’t do that. It’s not my intention to look into your past and somehow compromise your present. It’s not how I work. This is not something I have ever done.

And for his part, Abrams touted his friend as having his finger on the pulse of “the majority of Americans”:

CUOMO – I truly believe that this outlet is able to reach free agents. Not right, not left, reasonable, regular, open mind, open heart, willing to listen when someone disagrees—

ABRAMS: The majority of Americans. That’s just the crazy. This is something I discuss on my show every day. We don’t like extremes. People, we want the center and the left. We want – And you talked about this on your podcast – people who call themselves independents.

Cuomo says he’s not here to hurt people but he’s willing to threaten to throw Trump supporters down a flight of stairs, claims protests don’t have to be peaceful, and has backed the leftist domestic terrorist group Antifa.

NewsNation’s Dan Abrams Live
June 26, 2022

DAN ABRAMS : It’s all right. We’ve now asked Chris Cuomo some more difficult questions. He spoke to us about The Chris Cuomo Project, his podcast. Chris Cuomo has something more, and I do mean big in the future.

Herr Cuomo! Tell us about the next step in your television career.

CHRIS CUOMO : I am part of your decision. You are welcome to ask me questions. That’s the way you demonstrate respect for our relationship. It’s important to ask the right questions. You are a great person. Your work ethic is admirable. You have made me jealous while I was watching.

That’s why I am here to help. It is my goal to assist people. NewsNation is my destination. It’s my goal to make this a special place. Dan is here to help you. Their team is full of great people. They’re hungry for change in the ways I believe matter.

I have decided that I can’t go back to what people see is “the big game.” I don’t think I can make a difference there. We need independent media. I think we need outlets that aren’t fringe and just trying to fill their pockets. “Don’t listen to anybody else only listen to me.” Don’t trust that when you hear it.

I will do the job. I will go to the news. I will try my best to be fair. This is what I’m going to do. It’s my goal to make a positive difference. It’s my hope that this makes a positive difference in your life. It was a great opportunity and I am grateful to NewsNation.

ABRAMS: Chris will host a premiertime program here in the fall. It is amazing to me. When I first heard that they were talking you, I was saying, “Boy, that would be that would be a great, great get.”

CUOMO: Your presence matters to me. Understanding the culture and the motivations behind the decisions is important to me. This outlet is able to reach people I consider free agents.

But in many ways, what they’re saying is I don’t want to be associated with those other parties.

CUOMO: But you have to – Look the beauty of this and the timing of it is that we need this right now because this binary system is killing us. The media are often trapped within it. Right? Right? No one watches a referee’s game. Okay?

It is what it really is. There are two sides to the story. It’s easy to talk about it.

You don’t have to waste your time. It is futile trying to find ways to make people like you. This is what politics has become.

ABRAMS: Before you mention transparency, what do you think about this program’s personal views?

CUOMO – I want to be able to tell you yes. It’s a nice sell. However, it has always been my way. It’s not possible for me to fake the funk. You know what I mean? People who are familiar with me. There is one difference: I curse more on television than I do on it. Also, I pay attention to my mouth. I don’t think it is good for my kids. So, all be – I’ll clean it up.

My shtick, however, is not having any shtick. These are the questions I am going to ask. It’s a pleasure to be in conflict. I enjoy friction. It’s a joy that I find myself in a position to be of assistance. I don’t want to put anyone down. I won’t do that. It’s not my intention to look into your past and somehow compromise your present. It’s not how I work. This is not something I have ever done.
