Joe Biden hasn’t done a press interview in 120 days. He appeared on the very liberal Jimmy Kimmel’s show Wednesday night, knowing that he wouldn’t get any tough questions and hoping it would be a softball interview to help his image with the public.
Biden donned a simple mask backstage, and when the curtains opened, he pulled it off. He stood only inches from Kimmel. This makes perfect sense. pic.twitter.com/H7OjwqaTKp

On a day including an assassination attempt against Justice Brett Kavanaugh and vile tweets directed at his family, you would think Biden might try to present a unifying, calming presence. Biden did not have such success. Biden didn’t even bring it up or condemn it, and Kimmel never asked about it. Indeed, Biden attacked the draft decision of the Supreme Court calling it “ridiculous.” He whipped up more anger against the Court and indicated that he would try to get around the decision.
“I don’t think the country will stand for it,” Biden said.
“It’s clear that if in fact the decision comes down the way it does and these states impose the limitations they’re talking about, it’s gonna cause a mini revolution and they’re going to vote a lot of these folks out of office.”
According to him, his administration has been looking at the possibilities of using executive orders for abortion rights protection and that federal legislation was also necessary.
Biden pretended like he hasn’t been avoiding interviews. Biden laughed at it as if it were funny. Kimmel was critical of Fox’s alleged concern that Fox would ask softball questions.

Kimmel also asked softball questions.
Biden claimed the issue was just that they hadn’t been able to communicate all that he’s done. Then he didn’t convey anything and tried to blame the media for not covering his achievements, saying they have to get “clicks on nightly news” (which makes no sense).
Biden says there’s a lot of “major things” he’s done, he just hasn’t “been able to communicate it in a way that is, uh, um…”

The problem is if he had achieved anything people would know it, and he wouldn’t have to keep trying to convince people that he’d done something productive. Instead, everything he’s done has been a failure and that’s not something that goes over well with people.
One of the ways to have Americans immediately turn you off and think you’re loony is Biden’s continued insistence that the economy is just wonderful when Americans know how it’s crushing them.

Then there was this rant about “biracial” couples on television. Biden hasn’t been watching a lot of TV since the 1960s, claiming that there weren’t biracial couples in television ads. Then I’m not sure what the rest of the word salad meant, it looked like it was past his nap time at that point.
BIDEN: Turn on the TV and look at the advertisements. Have you ever seen biracial couples in TV ads? The way I’m referring to is people selling products. They do ads, sell products. People are attracted to products and they will sell them. pic.twitter.com/rzhdoCOsYc

Kimmel asked him whether he could issue executive orders to get what they wanted on gun control, claiming, falsely, that Trump issued them “like Halloween candy.”
The president responded, “I have issued executive orders within the power of the presidency to be able to deal with everything having to do with guns, gun ownership… all of the things that are within my power.”
He went on to accuse Trump of abusing the constitution, saying he doesn’t want to “emulate” his predecessor.
“But what I don’t want to do, and I’m not being facetious, I don’t want to emulate Trump’s abuse of the constitution and constitutional authority,” Biden said.
This was quite the chuckle, considering that Biden has always been more authoritarian with his mandates than President Donald Trump. Plus he’s issued more executive orders already than did Trump.

The “great unifier” also attacked Republicans and threatened sending his opponents to jail.

“I also get asked, ‘look the Republicans don’t play it square, why do you play it square?’” Biden said. “Well guess what, if we do the same thing they do, our democracy would literally be in jeopardy and that is not a joke.”
He went on to say that the GOP party has undergone “a radical shift” since Trump was elected, moving “hard right” and its members often vote against what many call “common sense” gun control because they’re afraid of being voted out of office.
“This is not your father’s Republican party,” Biden said. “This is a MAGA party, a very different Republican party and you find people who are worried, I believe, that if they vote for rational gun policy, they’re gonna be primaried and they’re going to lose in a hard-right Republican primary.”
Kimmel did ask him if they control the White House and Congress, why haven’t they passed more things that Democrats want?
Biden answered with this mix of answers.
BIDEN – “We know that 1 out 7 all of the major changes made in terms of solar and wind as well as wind pumps (I mean, uh pumps) have been in the last 18 month.
“You know what, I have pushed electric cars for the last I don’t remember, God knows how long.” pic.twitter.com/TVFklxJjkK

Did you figure out what he’s achieved in that answer? It’s a communications issue. “Gradually move more rapidly?” Of course, he notes the high gas prices are an “opportunity” to push toward his climate change goals, again not caring about the harm that they are causing to Americans and the economy.
They were allowing only still photos at the Biden Kimmel taping for the second consecutive time at an event hosted by Biden.
For the 2nd time this week, the WH will only allow still cameras into a Biden event – no video. Only stills will be allowed tonight for a spray from the Biden/Kimmel taping. Earlier this week, only stills were brought to the South Lawn for his mtg with Sen Murphy – TV was told about it afterward.

Why? Would video pick up things that they don’t want you to see?
I’m not sure what they thought this interview would achieve. The interview failed to demonstrate his extraordinary prowess. If it was supposed to show him as a unifier, that didn’t make it. The ship did not sink if it showed what he accomplished.
