Biden Finds Another Way To Emulate Jimmy Carter – With An Absolutely Neutered Administration – Opinion

At the start, people speculated the Biden administration resembles Jimmy Carter – someone tell him it was not something to aspire to.

Let me start this article by mentioning the USA Olympic hockey team which produced the Miracle on Ice. For the 25th anniversary of that historic sports event, HBO produced a stirring documentary, “Do You Believe In Miracles?”. To understand why the otherwise unrecognized winter Olympics sport attracted so much national enthusiasm, the documentary portrayed the 1980 mood. The term “malaise” seems more than an apt descriptor.

The US hockey team’s head coach Herb Brooks made national headlines when he became a fiery target of an opponent player during an early qualifier game. When a Finnish skater took a cheap shot at an American the coach was seen standing on the bench and pledging to the player were he to do something like that again Brooks would use his stick for…involuntary surgery. It was an example of strong leadership that had been long missing in the country.

We were in an economic crisis. Inflation and high gasoline prices led to a recession that was threatening the nation’s economy. The same thing is happening today. However, the documentary revealed that Jimmy Carter was viewed as a weak leader. This had an impact on the people. In the aftermath of the Iran hostage crisis, Soviets were encouraged to move aggressively across their border including into Afghanistan. Carter, the President of the United States was first to be investigated by an independent investigation and required to testify regarding allegations that he had received suspicious loans from banks to support his peanut plantation.

This type of neutered leadership has become a part of the Joe Biden presidency. If you replace Afghanistan by Ukraine, then this is a nice corollary to late 70s muted leadership against Russian border flexing. Carter-esque has been the manner in which Biden is able to travel overseas and reduce his stature. Biden’s recent beggar tour to Saudi Arabia met with rare media ridicule and denial of service. Past international conferences saw Biden diminishing US leadership and dominance.

Joe has been left to his own devices after he tested positive for COVID the second time within as few weeks. This alone does not make Joe ineffectual. However, the infection has canceled almost all his previous tough talks about the virus. Trump’s mockery about COVID looks now petulant. The country is now able to ignore panic and all the boosters and vaccines that were being offered has been stopped.

Notably, we’ve seen more articles questioning the efficacy of vaccines in the recent weeks. These reports don’t meet the same pushback as those published in the past years on social media platforms and the media. Its effects The vaccine is not recommended for children. And even more it affects periods in womenThey are openly reported. These stories would have been grounds to suspend accounts one year ago. But when Cooper Cupp catches the virus, it is more contagious than apathy.

However, the Biden administration has been displaying a growing incompetence. Joe had been perceived as far too impaired to lead the ship for quite some time. However, there have been significant shifts in perceptions in recent weeks. The longstanding theorizing of “Who is actually running the administration?” has lately given way to the far more speculative “It is AnyoneYou are even the one in charge?!”

Kamala Harris initially was thought to be the obvious benefactor. However, she now is the heir-afflicted. The K-Hive is in such disarray she has staffers quitting with the frequency of a McDonalds’ ice cream machine. Ron Klain is often assumed to be at the helm. However, he’s more skilled at using Twitter to approve media strokes.

Even Dr. First lady Jill decided to stop being considered as the silent commander. Recent speaking stops were made by her. She endured the heckling In an ice-cream shop. Her recent face-plant at a Hispanic conference, where she called Latinos “tacos”, rose to more than a personal embarrassment when it became revealed her words were fully vetted by this inept administration. Her speech was approved by three White House offices.

Overmatched administration officials have been a constant theme over the past week. Karine Jean-Pierre is continuing to demonstrate a low level of skill, which defies her selection as Press Secretary. Jen Psaki was her predecessor. Karine Jean-Pierre cannot answer questions she is asked about. Instead, she resorts to verbally curling in a ball and resorts to verbally denying the matter.

Jean-Pierre’s response to Nancy Pelosi’s threat of having her plane shot down in China was completely non-confrontational. Insolently, she responded insultingly when confronted about the Chinese threat. she feigned ignorance on the matter – despite having answered questions on the very threat from the press room days earlier.

The administration dispatched John Kirby to the White House NSC as the strategic communications director. Kirby’s communication skills These were not strategic.. After denying that there was any suggestion of her cancelling the trip due to the threat, he dismissed it as Pelosi making the decision. Kirby suggested that the media was fabricating a story when he was confronted about the absence of any response. Kirby actually said that the media had made the story of China’s threat to strike down a plane carrying an important political figure into a fake drama.

Kirby continued to go after more than just making the government look stale. He declared, “We do not support Taiwan’s independence.” This is not only a significant departure from the official administration position, it openly contradicts Biden’s own words from May, where he pledged to assist that nation should a Chinese invasion take place.

It is both amazing and worrying to see how disorganized these people are. No one seems to be aware of the activities and words of others, much less entire offices. Contradictions are common, as is obliviousness. The result is that when you try to find out who is actually in charge of the leadership, it is difficult to know who to call.

The feeling is that you are at a supermarket looking for help. Each employee tells the customer that it’s not their department, or they are on vacation. It’s no wonder that so many customers are taking off their name tags, and flipping their shirt inside-out as they hurry for the exit.
