Bias! Alleged Ex Twitter Employee Claims Trump Got Special Treatment, Would’ve Been Booted Sooner

Twitter claims in its “About” section to be “an open service that’s home to a world of diverse people, perspectives, ideas, and information.”

In a bizarre act of political theatre, however, the Jan.6 Committee broadcast testimony by an alleged ex-Twitter employee on Tuesday. He claimed that Twitter considered firing former President Donald Trump long before the Capitol Riot of the first week in 2021.

Jan. 6 Committee member Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) claimed the alleged Twitter employee – who purportedly worked on the company’s content moderation team – said the company targeted Trump months before finally canceling him.

“The employee testified Twitter considered adopting a stricter content moderation policy after President Trump told the Proud Boys to ‘stand back and stand by’ from the lectern at the September 29th presidential debate, but Twitter chose not to act,” Raskin said.

The faceless alleged employee, whose voice the committee muffled, went on to say that Trump “would have been permanently suspended a very long time ago” if he were any other user on Twitter. The machinated voice then accused some Twitter employees of relishing the “power” that came with being Trump’s favorite social media platform.

An MRC Free Speech America report comparing Trump’s censorship to that of Joe Biden, the former president of the United States, shows otherwise. Twitter banned Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign 625 times in total between May 31, 2018, and January 4, 2021. This same study also found that Twitter did not censor Biden’s campaign.
