Beyond Parody: ‘View’ Scolds Americans to Be Grateful for Joe, This Thanksgiving

Watch the first segment. The ViewToday, it is possible to say that the left and right live in separate realities. The liberal talk show hosts started the show rejoicing over how great things are in Joe Biden’s America. Despite the fact that most Americans disagree with them, the hosts scolded everyone to be thankful for what Biden’s done for the country.

Brushing aside rising gas costs, co-host Whoopi Goldberg cheered how there were “plenty of other reasons to feel hopeful this holiday.” After ABC played a video clip of Biden putting a positive spin on the economy yesterday, Goldberg scolded, “Well, I’m hoping people are hearing the message loud and clear, because he’s only been in for nine months!”

It may seem parodic, but what followed is real.

Goldberg asked Behar for a list of everything Americans ought to be grateful to Joe Biden.

“[D]o you want — tell folks what he’s got done?” she asked. Behar proudly held up her White House-approved talking points to the audience and said she didn’t want to “bore” people with a list. But Goldberg cheered her on,  “[B]ore ‘em! Bore ‘em!”

BEHAR: Alright. He also signed the 1 trillion-dollar infrastructure bill. A bipartisan bill was passed that would fix all of the crumbling infrastructure, including tunnels and bridges. Trump could not do it. [ Applause ]

GOLDBERG: And what else? GOLDBERG: What did he do other than that?

BEHAR: A $1.9 Trillion covid relief plan was passed by him in March.

GOLDBERG: That put money in people’s pockets.

BEHAR: Do you remember Trump?

GOLDBERG

BEHAR: I love to contrast and compare!

GOLDBERG : Yes, it is true. But what was Joe doing?

BEHAR: Alright. Although it was messy, he finally ended the war. It was 20 years of war in Afghanistan. We are grateful. [applause]

GOLDBERG: How about other things?

BEHAR: He cancelled student loans of more than 300,000.

HOSTIN: Yes, he did.

BEHAR: That’s significant. [ Applause ]

BEHAR: The poor children at the border who were separated by the previous administration now live together — he ensured that they are reunited with their parents, either in the United States of their origin or in their home country. [Applause]This is to me, one of the most terrible things that you could do for a child.

HOSTIN – I believe there were at least 500. Over 500 were reunited.

BEHAR: The U.S. has returned to the Paris Climate Accord. Thanks, Baby, it’s all of us in this together. The unemployment rate is dropping, which you cannot blame for the pandemic. You don’t need a mask if you do not wear one, and I will blame him, not him.

Yuck. Jen Psaki, Press Secretary might have thought Behar was competing for her job.

Only a person untethered from reality would think Biden’s Afghanistan debacle was a “win,” or that taxpayers would approve of giving millions of their dollars to people who broke the law to come into this country.

The entire table recalled that Americans should be grateful they could visit their family in the new year. “So as you all remember that you haven’t seen your people in perhaps almost two years, quit kvetching– Quit kvetching. This is what this is about!” Goldberg lectured.

This is not the same thing they were saying two Thanksgivings ago.

The hosts didn’t mention, majority of the country disapproves of Biden’s leadership. Sunny Hostin said that she is shocked by the fact that Americans have cut non-essentials such as alcohol from their dining tables this year because they believe lies about the economy’s boom.

The administration seems to have given the message to the media this week: Be grateful for Joe, and don’t gripe. This stark contrast is between what the media did to Americans last Thanksgiving.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG (Well, I hope people hear the message because he has only been here for nine months.

JOY BEHAR: And he’s gotten so much done!

GOLDBERG: I want to say, do you want — tell folks what he’s got done?

JOY BEHAR: Well I don’t want to bore people with a list, [holds up notecard]The list goes on, but it is too long.

GOLDBERG: Yeah, but bore ‘em! Bore ‘em!

BEHAR: Alright. He also signed the 1 trillion-dollar infrastructure bill. Bipartisan legislation that will fix bridges, tunnels, and other things that are falling apart.

Although it was messy, he finally ended the 20-year-old war in Afghanistan. We are grateful. [applause]

GOLDBERG: How about other things?

BEHAR: He cancelled student loans of more than 300,000 Americans living with disability.

HOSTIN: Yes, he did.

BEHAR: That’s significant. [ Applause ]

BEHAR: The poor children at the border who were separated by the previous administration now live together — he ensured that they are reunited with their parents, either in the United States of their origin or in their home country. [Applause]That’s to me the worst thing you can do to your child.

HOSTIN: I think they’re were over 500, right? Over 500 were reunited.

BEHAR: The U.S. has returned to the Paris Climate Accord. Thanks, Baby, it’s all of us in this together. The unemployment rate is dropping, which you cannot blame for the pandemic. If you aren’t wearing a mask then I don’t blame him.

HOSTIN: Or, you’re unvaccinated.

BEHAR: Or you’re unvaccinated.

GOLDBERG – So basically, he has been doing his job. Remember when Presidents did presidential stuff. [cross-talk]  You don’t have to like his politics but you can’t beat the fact that he’s working for America.

BEHAR, HOSTIN: That’s right.

GOLDBERG – Just saying. [ Applause ]

HOSTIN: This will be the most visited holiday for two years!

WHOOPI GOLDBERG – As you remember not seeing your friends in two years or so, stop kvetching – Stop kvetching. This is why this matter.

It doesn’t matter how many polls you read, most people still don’t want to be there for their families. I think that’s very important to have in family dynamic and now people — that’s right — because they didn’t have the option before and we’ve got — we may have this option for good now and it’s all good.
