Bartiromo and Sen. Cramer TEAR Biden for Commentary Detailing ‘Plan’ for So-Called ‘Robust Recovery’

President Joe Biden released his “plan for fighting inflation” in a recent op-ed for It Wall Street Journal. Spoiler alert! According to Biden the culprits behind high inflation can be found everywhere except in the White House.

Some were not pleased with the president’s blatant distortion of the economy. 

On the May 31 edition, Mornings With Maria (R-ND), Sen. Kevin Cramer (R) blasted Biden. Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo, a Fox News host, also attacked the president for claiming that the economy is strong when in fact the government has just reported its worst ever economic contraction since before the outbreak. Biden pointed fingers at Russian President Vladimir PutinA May 30 opinion-ed highlighted the problems facing global energy markets, supply chains that are chaotic, and Trump’s presidency. “The global economy faces serious challenges. Inflation is elevated, exacerbated by Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine. Markets for energy are in chaos. Supply chains that haven’t fully healed are causing shortages and price hikes,” Biden wrote.

Biden was not stopped by these excuses from describing the economy’s strength. “In January 2021, when I took office, the recovery had stalled and Covid was out of control. In less than a year and a half, my administration’s economic and vaccination plans helped achieve the most robust recovery in modern history.” 

But Bartiromo wasn’t having any of it. She blasted Biden for claiming that the economy was “robust” in a May 31 interviewCramer.

“I don’t know how you come up with those words given the fact that we just saw the economy shrink,” Bartiromo said. “We had a contraction in the first quarter. If we have another contraction in the second quarter, we’re officially in recession. And this morning, oil prices are surging again.” 

Biden has the good news that the liberal media is known for ignoring his economic problems. That trend does not slow down.

On May 26, the federal government announced that U.S. Gross Domestic Product (GDP), had dropped by 1.5 percent in the last year. This was more than anticipated. It was the “worst quarter” since the early pandemic, when lockdown measures took effect across much of the country.

The news from May 26 was completely ignored by all three of the Big Three Morning News Shows. Instead, viewers learned about eco-friendly vegan cakes and watched interviews with stars of the medical drama, Grey’s Anatomy.

Like Bartiromo, Cramer also pushed back on Biden’s absurd arguments that he inherited a “very bad economy” from former President Donald Trump. 

“The reality is that [Biden] inherited a robust economy built on a strong foundation, built on lower regulations, lower taxes,” Cramer said. “The reason we were able to come back so quickly after COVID was because of the foundation that was built by the Trump administration and Republicans in Congress prior to the pandemic.”
