Ashton Kutcher Says He Could Not Walk, Talk, or Hear Due to Rare Disease – Opinion

Ashton Kutcher recently disclosed his vasculitis diagnosis — a condition that prevented him from walking, talking, or hearing. Two years ago, he was first diagnosed with vasculitis.

When he made an appearance on “Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge,” he opened up about the diagnosis. Kutcher shared the following:

“Like two years ago, I had this weird, super rare form of vasculitis that, like, knocked out my vision, it knocked out my hearing, it knocked out, like, all my equilibrium.”

“You don’t really appreciate it until it’s gone,” the actor added. “Until you go, ‘I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to see again, I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to hear again, I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to walk again.’”

Kutcher spoke on the rare diagnosis of a syphilis:

“[It]This can lead to blood vessel walls becoming thicker, which decreases the flow through the vessels. If blood flow is restricted, it can result in organ and tissue damage.”

Kutcher shared this message earlier today

“Before there are a bunch of rumors/ chatter/ whatever out there. It was a rare episode of vasculitis that I experienced 3 years ago. I suffered hearing and balance problems, as well as vision, from an autoimmune flare-up. Fully recovered. Everything is fine. Let’s move on. See you at the 2022 NY Marathon w/Thorn”

He continued, telling Bear Grylls:

“The minute you start seeing your obstacles as things that are made for you, to give you what you need, then life starts to get fun, right? … “You start surfing on top of your problems instead of living underneath them.”

Kutcher also had health problems in the past. Kutcher stated that 2019 will bring him:

“I was studying [Steve Jobs’s]I was informed that his eating habits and behaviors were similar to mine and that he consumed a lot carrot juice. So I started drinking carrot juice non-stop, like, all day long.”

His pancreatitis was diagnosed twice. He noticed that he started feeling pain just a few days before the new production began.

“Two weeks before we went to start shooting, all of a sudden I had this pain in my back. Through the night, it got worse. I ended up in the hospital on the maximum dose of Dilaudid because my pancreas was, like, crazy out of whack.”

When Kutcher’s wife, Mila Kunis, was asked about the diagnosis, she said:

“He’s downplaying it … He was so dumb. He also, I think, only ate grapes at one point.”

Kutcher is currently starring in a movie called “Vengeance.”
