As Trump Candidates Dominate, It’s All Eyes on Arizona and Michigan – Opinion

The legacy media has resumed its Trump endorsement watch this week in Arizona, and Michigan. These are crucial bellwethers in 2022 and 2024. This is especially true since Trump narrowly lost both these states in 2020. Some of these candidates have proven themselves worthy of the MAGA banner.

We’ll start with the clearest win in Michigan: Businesswoman, conservative commentator, and Republican gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon won the primary handily, beating the other leading candidates by double digits.

While most legacy media outlets focus on her MAGA credentials as well her history in conservative media, they ignore her many years worth of business experiences, which give her real gravitas to relate to Michiganders while also discussing the same issues they are fighting for.

CNBC displayed restraint but it is clear they have no control.

Tudor Dixon, a former conservative commentator and actor endorsed by ex-President Donald Trump, will win Michigan’s Republican gubernatorial primary election, NBC News projects.

Dixon will take on the incumbent Governor in general. Gretchen Whitmer was unopposed during the Democratic primary.

In the tumultuous Republican gubernatorial primary, meanwhile, Dixon emerged as a frontrunner only after multiple leading candidates were disqualified from the ballot and another was arrested on misdemeanor charges related to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

Whitmer’s bid to win a second term is bolstered by his well-funded campaign, strong approval ratings and Dixon may be up against it.

I would like to know CNBC’s definition of “strong.”

Dixon is a true believer in authenticity and not the fake. Body Snatchers InvasionWhitmer’s demeanor

Here’s what we probably can expect: Whitmer and her cohorts will try to tie Dixon to Trump and paint her as an insurrectionist and a right-wing crazy. Similar strategy to every other Democrat strategist. Repeat.

News 9&10 thinks Dixon’s strategy will be to tie Whitmer to Biden and the bad economy. This may be true, but Dixon might remind Michiganans of how terrible Whitmer was in the pandemic. I was astonished to see the protestors gathered at the Lansing Capitol with Whitmer’s perfectly groomed Zoom, her Fauci pillow clearly visible. Whitmer and many of her Democratic counterparts in the governorship used executive privilege to lordit over Michigan’s people. She shut down their businesses, locked them in their homes, and killed vulnerable seniors. Whitmer needs to face the truth, and Dixon is likely to hold her responsible.

On Dixon’s late Tuesday appearance on Fox News’ The Ingraham AngleDixon sent a message of support to Governor Whitmer

“Families won tonight. Families came out and voted, and families want a family-friendly Michigan and we’re going to deliver it; and we’re going to hold her accountable to her terrible record here in the state of Michigan. We’re not going to let the people forget, and trust me, as I’ve gone around the state they haven’t forgotten.”

Get ready to play.

The Arizona primary gubernatorial election is currently being contested by Kari lake, a former anchor and Karrin Robson, a lawyer and land-use consultant. This race is too close for comfort. Lake feels confident that she will win this race.

Should that be the case, Lake is not only media savvy, she’s savageAs demonstrated in her treatment of a CNN reporter seeking an interview.

WATCH:

Lake can also manage a room. Lake spoke Wednesday to local media and the national press.

Her secret weapon is Lake’s wind from the Mama Bears beneath her sails. Katie Hobbs, former Secretary of State in Arizona and Democrat Candidate is still contaminated by 2020’s election and the fallout.

When Kari Lake’s primary win is secured, expect a knock down, drag out battle.

Make popcorn.

Then there are the other races that received Trump’s endorsement and won Bigly: Blake Masters the Republican candidate for U.S. SenateWill face off against Sen. Mark Kelly (D AZ). The Republican nomination for Secretary-of-State was won by Mark Finchem, an AZ State Representative.

NPR went full metal bitter and was barely able not to scream at its indignation:

Mark Finchem, a state representative and election conspiracy theorist who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, has won the GOP nomination to oversee voting as Arizona’s secretary of state, according to a race call by The Associated Press.

Finchem will appear on the November general election ballot against either Democrat Adrian Fontes, the former county clerk of Maricopa County, Arizona’s most populous county, or Democratic state Rep. Reginald Bolding. That race is not yet being called by the Associated Press.

Finchem was seen as the Republican frontrunner after securing Trump’s endorsement last September. Finchem won Trump’s support by being one of the most vocal supporters of Trump’s 2020 lie over the last two years.

NPR wants to hear your feelings.

The Washington TimesWhile it is better, the side eye still needs to be paid:

Mark Finchem, the state representative, was declared to be the winner in the GOP race as secretary of state. Mr. Finchem spent more than a year claiming the 2020 election was rife with voter fraud, and received Mr. Trump’s endorsement early in the race.

Finchem’s win could be considered time spent well.

John Gibbs was the candidate for Michigan District 3, and it is probably Trump’s most satisfying victory. Former HUD assistant secretary and OPM director, as well as a missionary, defeated Rep. Peter Meijer who was among the 10 Republicans who voted for the impeachment of then-President Donald J. Trump. fauxsurrection.

Democrats even poured money into Gibbs’ campaign, because they felt he would be easy pickings against Democrat Hillary Scholten come November.

Dems, be careful about what you ask.
