As Faux Outrage Flows, Ron DeSantis Once Again Nails It – Opinion

Smart people will avoid traditional news outlets today. But, rest assured that fake outrage has been flowing over the past six months like honey and milk. This morning, the president delivered his absurd speech (early enough to ensure he was awake) and insulting proclamations were made.

It’s not worth it. If you’ve heard one deranged rant from a Democrat politician or cable news analyst about January 6th over the last year, you’ve heard them all. It’s always the same misleading, opportunist garbage, with it being once again repackaged day as extra-super-serious because it’s the “anniversary.”

In the face of so many bad take today, there is one positive one that’s actually worth reporting. It’ll surprise no one that it came from Ron DeSantis. He exploded in an unheard of way that most Republicans would not when a reporter asked about his thoughts January 6.

This man is truly able to do it.

I’ll spare you the hysterical reactions from members of the media to what DeSantis said because again, if you’ve heard one rant from someone obsessed with January 6th, you’ve heard them all. But I think it’s important to praise Republicans when they get it right, and DeSantis nailed it, pulled the nail out, and then hammered again it back in again. You can see that this January 6th response is worth reporting on.

DeSantis begins by pointing out the double standard being applied to the January 6th incident and the Congressional Baseball Shooting perpetrated in part by a Bernie Sanders Supporter. In the former, no members of Congress were ever actually harmed or even ended up in harm’s way. One GOP House member suffered serious injuries and was almost murdered, while the other House members barely made it to safety.

DeSantis claims that it was only a one-day story. The constant stream of mouth-blowing over January 6th is purely for political reasons. The governor also hit people who make completely absurd comparisons between January 6th, Pearl Harbor and 9/11, Holocaust, or Holocaust. Hilariously, he even used the phrase “Charlie Foxtrot” to describe today’s events, which gave the vapors to more than a few reporters online.

DeSantis didn’t stop there, though. He went there on the possible government instigation of January 6th, asking why certain people who were present that day were suddenly removed from the FBI’s wanted list. Dir. Christopher Wray offered no explanation, nor did Ray Epps (who was captured on video initiating the attack) not get arrested. DeSantis is almost the only elected Republican who will be willing to answer those questions.

Finally, he got to his over-arching point, asserting that Floridians simply do not care about January 6th and that it’s not something he thinks about. The unrest was brief and those responsible for crimes were executed. Americans care deeply about schools and inflation.

DeSantis finished his lengthy response by firing a final shot at Democrats, who were preening to get the camera today.

It would be a great thing if the Congress of the United States were to also pay attention to these pressing issues. Sadly, they’re not. They’re going to use this to be able to get more TV time, and some of them, who are probably the most loud, will end up probably vacationing in Florida at some point as well.

This man is a true boss.

No matter if you agree with DeSantis or not, this man is exceptional. He’s taken everything Trump pioneered in regards to how to handle the media and turned it up to eleven. DeSantis is never out of the loop. Not only do he always have the correct answer at his fingertips, but he also knows how to make his opponent look tiny and small. That’s a gift, and it’s one conservatives desperately need to defeat the left going forward. The stakes are too high to fool with Republicans who aren’t up for the challenge.
