CBS News was in serious trouble internally when it hired Mick Mulvaney, former Trump Chief Of Staff as an analyst. Mulvaney is not part of their ideology bubble. CNN’s Oliver Darcy says there was also discontent at NBC News, when they reported Jen Psaki (Biden Press Secretary) as a host on their Peacock streaming site. She could “graduate”, like George Stephanopoulos, to the flagship “news”.
Noah Oppenheim, President of NBC News, held a Friday staff meeting to address concerns.
Oppenheim did not direct MSNBC. He told reporters that NBC News was not involved in Psaki’s hiring. The Oppenheim also stated to the journalists that they worked for NBC News and the hirings made. MSNBC’s opinion arm should be viewed as unrelated to their work,The people spoke.
“Here’s what he was saying: They have perspective programming. It was on the perspective programming side. Not anything that reflects on NBC News,” one of the people, who was on the call, explained.
“People wanted answers on what NBC’s role was in this and NBC News had no role in this,” the person added. “This is MSNBC’s perspective programming.”
Don’t make fun of NBC News being at least six inches from any “perspective programming”. NBC and MSNBC are easily confused for most viewers. They share their resources and “talents” on the air.
Similar to the Washington Post reporting on CBS, CNN’s Darcy relied on sources that were comfortably anonymous:
Oppenheim’s call, however, hasn’t fully stamped out the frustration among NBC News journalists, theCNN spokespeople said….
The drama around Psaki’s hiring has exposed a larger issue at play in the NBC Universal News Group: a rift between NBC News and MSNBC that is once again growing.
In fact, Psaki’s hiring wasn’t the first move that has irked Some journalists NBC News. “This has been a slow boil for a while,” one NBC News staffer said.
One of the first complaints made by NBC News reporters was when MSNBC revealed that Symone Sanders had been hired to host a weekend show. Symone is a former spokesperson for Vice President Kamala Harir. Persons who know the subject said.
Kristen Welker, NBC, attempted to show discontent among staff members by asking Psaki questions about the White House briefing’s conflict of roles (without noting that it was HER network).
Psaki’s bright side is that Jimmy Fallon won’t do a routine in which he compares her to an Indiana Jones goon. Seth Meyers made fun of President Psaki by bringing up this new gig.

Thank you, God! Please, I’d like to be with Joe when you show him how to download Peacock.
