Amy Coney Barrett Perfectly Handles Deranged Far-Left Heckler – Opinion

The trend for Supreme Court justices to disappear into the background is that they are confirmed. That’s an important part of maintaining their distance from the political world, and for the most part, the current members of the nation’s highest court avoid the spotlight.

That’s certainly been true for Justice Amy Coney Barrett, whose contentious confirmation included charges that her religion disqualified her. Since then, we’ve heard very little from her outside of the usual conference appearances justices make, and at a recent one, Barrett was confronted with a deranged heckler.

It was perfect.

I’m constantly astonished at just how insane the far-left has become. It’s not just that they hold detestable, deeply harmful views that I don’t agree with. It’s also that they express them in a way that, at best, mimics mental illness. What kind of person goes to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library to shout about enslaving women as a defense of…(checks notes)…killing women via abortion?

Besides, how is Amy Coney Barrett an “enslaver” of women? How many women in the United States currently are being enslaved today? What decisions has the Supreme Court made during Barrett’s tenure which led to the enslavement? You should not heckle anyone. However, the far-left doesn’t put in any effort. They just shout stupidity about the Handmaid’s Tale over and over, because no other show or book exists apparently, and then think they’ve done something profound.

It still doesn’t make sense, even though you accept this kind of insaneness as fact. Do you know what’s worse than supposedly “enslaving” women by overturning Roe v. Wade? You inject them with poison and kill them. Then you sucker them out using a vacuum. It is important to note that pregnancy is voluntary and is something almost all women who have children enter into. Is it possible for a depraved individual to decide that the killing of a child is morally superior?

We live in a country with millions who share this view. Frankly, I’ve got no patience for it. As I’ve said before, there’s a lot in politics I’ll chalk up to disagreement. I don’t think someone is evil for wanting to forgive student loan debt or for wanting to raise taxes. As misguided as the opposite side might be, those are important policy questions. Abortion is not about whether or not we allow mass slaughter of millions. So no matter what, I’ll be standing where I’m standing on this issue.

Moving back to Barrett, she’s got a quick wit, and I respect that. When the case comes up before the court, I hope that she will stick to the statements made about abortion in the past. She will be hated by the Democrats with an unquenchable passion. There is no reason to try to assuage them, and I don’t think she will.
